In no particular order and with many left out:
Zatôichi monogatari: a great old schoolish (1962) samurai flick with great character build up. This is a LONG series of movies, something like 23 in the set!
Amadeus: Classical music is awesome, and this man is unparalleled in the field. Not exactly historically accurate, but an incredible performance by F. Murray Abraham.
La Vita è bella: Roberto Benigni is awesome here, a very touching movie about the holocaust. If you know Benigni, you know you can expect great humor, but it doesn't detract or insult the seriousness of the situation.
Ravenous: This movie is incredible, the scenery, musc and suspense are insane.. unfortunately it begins to fall apart after the first hour or so. The end is somewhat of a let down, but I can't suggest a better one :\.
Yeopgijeogin geunyeo: Better known as "My Sassy Girl" (though i normally find no one knows about it, haha) this movie is hilarious. Very funny to watch the things Tae-hyun Cha is willing to go through for Ji-hyun Jun.
Das Boot: A great war movie here, this is like 3:30 but definitely worth it. The movie takes place on a german sub during WWII. The acting is great and the story is right up there with it.
Barry Lyndon: I thoroughly believe Kubrick is insane, its the only way to explain the way he is able to paint a story. Everything is done perfectly here, and its another long one here: 3:05.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch: The music in this is only matched by the humor. This was originally an off Broadway play, but its twisted (twisted like Rocky Horror Picture Show), so if you can't get past drag queens and trannys, don't bother starting it.
And if you watch foreign films in anything other than the original language, you're a dumbass. It takes 2 minutes to get used to subtitles. Thank you, that is all.
