Where are you all from?

So where are you all from and what is the trials scene like there?

I'm from Boulder, Colorado and the trials community here is great. We have loads of riders (I can always find someone to ride with), and they're all nice guys.

I'm from Colorado Springs/Manitou Springs. The scene here is pretty good I'd say. We've been having twice weekly group rides for several years now, and the scene has expanded and shrunk several times. At one point 6 or 7 months ago, we'd usually have 10-15 riders on the wednsday night group rides, about 10 would be 100% trials and the other 5 would be DHers or street riders. Now our group rides are anywhere from 5 to 10 riders, but now it's mostly trials riders.

The best thing about our scene is riding spots. I've made a list of almost 40 sweet riding spots within 20 minutes of downtown. We have 3 or 4 natural spots that will probably never be tapped out, they are just filled with endless natural lines. Garden of the Gods park alone could keep Pro riders entertained for years if all they wanted to do was ride rocks. Not to mention we have some awesome urban areas to ride in, however Cops seem to be a problem these days downtown.

All in all I really like our scene. We don't have the highest level pros, or even close, but we do have a group of commited riders and endless riding locations.

Im from fort collins, CO and the scene is arguably boring?

There are tons of riders, but quantity doesn't mean quality. It was better 3 years ago when there were just 2-3 riders...you only need one other person to make the scene good. I'm pretty sure after riding the same small town for 3 years I've ridden EVERYTHING there is, which is probably another reason why I'm not interested in riding right now. The only things I haven't done are rediculous ups and lines that are too dangerous to do without a good reason.

I started in the scene of new jersey, which I liked much more than out here. Was there anyone to ride with? Not really- jeff lenosky, chris clark and lance trappe all lived within a stones throw of me but I didn't know who they were at the time. I never saw concrete until over a year of riding, I spent all my time in the woods alone and it was the most fun time in my trials "career"

I'm from Detroit Michigan and the scene is ok. There are barely any group rides, but i can always go ride with some Windsor guys or ride with Cris Santos. Theres not really any good riding spots, but Windsor has tons of good places to ride.
I'm from Vancouver, British Columbia. The trials scene is really good in BC. There are alot of good spots to ride in Vancouver - downtown area has some great spots for both the beginner and the pro. There are plenty of urban spots too.

Since I am a beginner in the sport I haven't had any rides with other riders in my area. Mainly because I don't know of any. I have only been riding with a friend of mine.
I'm from Louisville Kentucky and the trials scene is starting to grow, in theville we have 2 dedicated trials riders and 4 other people with trials bikes. But when the whole midwest crew gets together here in Louisville or Cincy we have about 15-20 riders.
theres a few riders in baltimore. the urban scene is pretty tight. natural is great also, if you mind driving for 45 min to the spots.
i am probably the only rider up here..my other friends are too cool or somthing.. so i ride alone, by myself 90% of the time... i can ride natural...wehre its really lonely, no otehr people, because its at 11,000 in the mountains, or i can ride urban here and wait to be chased out of town by the grey-hair-mafia...fucking historical society!

but i dont want to sound bitter.. so i live 45 minutes west of denver, i ride with people in boulder and denver sometimes..i used to ride with fort collins people until they became bitter themselves.. colorado springs guys have good terrain, but its 3 hour drive, and they have no reason to come to denver.. cant blame them... good guys tho. as are all trials riders..all good guys. definately good guys. no doubt.
maybe being is simply believing.
Hey Elan,

We'd love to come to Denver. Choose any night or weekend, and we'll be there. We've been thinking about making the weekly journey to Boulder to ride the indoor spot once it gets cold.

Anyway, the point is, Colorado Springs riders would love to head to Denver/Boulder whenever. Just let us know.
i know nothing if group rides... they are poorly publicsxczcied.. oh well... i ride alone then.. but if you plan somthing call me, 569-2548 that s 303 by the way. kevin should be mr coordinator, but he thinks school and other things are more important.. pfft. :joshers:
Elan, come on now. We're not bitter....well at least everybody but andrew. Anyway, we should all get together on a weekday evening next week and hit up boulder. It would be funtasteric.

Calling yourself an FTCer are you graham? Been here a few months...you have no idea.
bitterness at its best from andy.
Graham have you even participated in the initiation rites of Fort colons.
How I wish we could all live in the same city.
Oh yeah I'm in C.Springs and from florida, americas wang.
i'm living in boulder right now but i'm originally from vancouver. i'm just here until they feel like kicking me out of this country. just been riding trials for a couple of months but i've gotten into the habit of breaking my brake levers so i haven't been able to ride for a few weeks. i'd be into a group ride sometime soon.
where do people in boulder ride in the winter? is there a place indoors?
indooors... pssssh just kidding :D I'm guessing you've never been in Boulder for a winter though? The weather here is great, if it does snow, it's gone in two days because it often reaches 50-60 degrees on sunny winter days. Once the sun goes down it does get a bit nip, but I think you'll find it's easy to ride all year long here.

That all being said, there is an indoor place, though I've never been. I think it's near like 30th and valmont, or somewhere on northish 30th street. Theo Takeda knows the owner, hopefully he can post here, or Josh, or someone that knows the deal. I believe they are open wednesday nights. You need to get in on a group ride mark :).

im from south denver. i'm the best rider within a .1 mile radius :Wavey: just joking... anyhoot, there is not as much to ride in denver as many people think but it still provides me with enough to get me distracted from my doings in ecole. i think thats french for school? whatever.
