I just put together the XC bike I used for trials before I got my Planet X. How....did...I...ever...ride...this...thing.....

I dont see how I could have ridden such low and narrow bars first of all. And then the top tube length is soooooooo short. And the hub....dont even get me started on the hub.... And biggest of all, the suspension fork up front, I thought Id never get used to the rigid fork when I switched to a dedicated trials bike, I felt like I couldnt lift the front end properly...now I feel like I cant lift the front end on my bike with suspension.

Just an observation on how different these two bikes are. To all those who find themselves interested in trials but consider buying a bike that isnt dedicated to trials, just consider going through with the full trials rig, it's worth it.

    :sonic:

Now I have to work on being a switch hitter, I want to hit the XC trails again, but this thing feels too weird, I almost feel like I need wide bars for XC rig now. :eek3:

Well I haven't really ridden anything else but mountainbike, my current bike is Specialized P3 dirtjumper, not too bad but it's definitely heavy! I don't know about rigid fork...*laugh* I'm so used to full suspension and finally switched to hard tail when I decided to ride trials.

Once I get better I'll build me a true trials bike :)

Ive told some old XC friends Id put this back together and ride with them again, but I dont know if I really am willing to, this just isnt my interest anymore, plus I cant quite get used to this, what do you call it again? seat?

I love riding my Bullit. Better, I enjoy trying to take the Bullit where I've taken the trials bike. Nothing like pedal kicking 45 lb's of 7inch soft porn.

Haha yea, I take my rocky mountain to Princeton University still, the suspension is weird though, and the 27" bars feel so narrow!

There's the sexy beast I started riding trials on. That bike will NEVER live again. Unless, it comes back to life as a bong or something.

if you get a long trials bike then you will probably feel the same when you built your PX back up, haha.

Yeah, I see myself making the change to a longer frame in a years time. But I have to get this urban urge out of me first.

Dude...I felt like complete ass on my Megamo when I got it coming from a .243. It felt like I didn't know how to pull up the front, and I was leaning too far foreward. Bunny hops felt like I didn't know how to, and my landings from stuff really showed off how sloppy a 40 lb bike with a 5inch travel fork makes you, LOL!

when i got my x lite going from a trek fuel (xc bike) i noticed some good/some bad things (in the very beggining, of course everything is better now). first off the good-instead of the usual 90 degree pivots i could make a 180 pivot off the bat. rocking back and forth was easier. however, trackstands, and getting on back wheel were sketch. my trackstands were wobbly and i could barely get on rear wheel.
on my fuel i could get 2 back hops. after a week on my trials bike i could get around 10 hops and could pedal kick pretty well. nuff said

I learned how to pedal kick on a cruiser bmx now it just feels like shit. Although I do believe learning to bunny hop 3 feet ledges on my jackflash classic with dj3 hook worms and a goliath crank really gave me an edge when I hopped on my zebdi. I'm not blown away just takes me a half hour or less to get used to different bikes. Bunny hopping is soo sweet on trials bikes o and pedal kicking on a 38lbs beast with 38-18 SS gearing is not fun compared to a zebdi.
