I also rccomend those or you can thread a carrot into your crank.It will last longer.Cage pedals grip but fall apart.My easton flat boys a re of reasonable weight ,grip great and last forever! Pancho has trashed more of those than I can count.Actually I cant count past five.

If you're honestly thinking of spending $100 on pedals (shin burgers) Take a look at the atomic laboratories Aircorp Pedals (http://www.atomlab.com/) They're the most amazing feeling pedals I've ever felt. I have big feet and weigh a lot. I've had them for about 6 or 7 months and haven't lost a pin or done anything more than scratch em. Pretty hard to beat, only downfall is the price.

I'm sure DaveN can fill you in on his experience with azonic fusions. If you want to spend around $30 then just look at the zu zu's or a variant thereof.

vp's are like tampons- they are no good after the first day.

get something that wont perform like a stick of butter after half an hour. the zuzu's kick ass. dont drop money on shim burgers. i dont know why anyone would ever buy those pedals. like matt said, get some METAL atomic pedals- avoid the lexan trash they offer. another good pedal is the welgo b-27 or the tioga mx pro (same pedal, just rebranded) at around 50-80 bucks a pair. my suggestion, get azonic fusions or sun zuzu's. if you bust out the zuzu platform they will warranty upgrade them to the octanes which also kick ass

VP's are fantastic if you aren't a goon.


Get the zuzu's and have fun when they break, there's lots of great platforms out there...for a bit more than $30. Shin burgers are a joke, stay away from those wastes of money.
