Right now I'm on 170's, but I actually like 165's too, just my preference though

if you think about it a shorter crank will give you 'faster engagement'... right? spinnign a smaller circle, your pedals dont go as far before you hit a hub point. but then again you have less leverage too. nevermind im smoking crack- just 170's.

I used to have 175's but now use 170.

I think the 170's are a happy comprimise.

170 here....and after I started paying attention to it, engagement although fast compared to other hubs, I still notice that gap of nothingness, that makes me wonder how 165 would feel...wouldn't the lack of lost energy in lost pedal stroke make up for leverage if you used the same gear? Bah...I too am on crack....

i run 165 in 22 - 19 and my hub does feel every so slightly quicker at engaging than my friend however thats only if i put my gear down to 22 -16 same as him and he runs 175

I think your hight is the biggest factor. If your tall go for longer cranks. Id personaly stick with 170 - 175 however really im not sure i could tell the difference between 5mm increments.

165's. and if it means anything i'm 5'10". BTW: the difference between long and short cranks is the same as the difference between an easy and hard gear. you can make up for the loss of leverage by switching to a one tooth easier gear and it will feel virtually the same. 1 cm crank length = aprox. one tooth difference in the rear.
