To those who might know, mr. whiteraven and such . What gear do vincent and coustelliers use? how many teeth in front and how many in the rear? They use different for urban rather then natural ? . im just curios . just thought there was a slim chance anyone knew .

Also- vincent NEVER changes his gear....even for rediculous speed "trials" which was basically a high speed mountain bike "street" course (meaning just ramps, he was pedaling full speed the whole time!). Same gear for everything- natural, urban, etc. I have no idea how he gaps so fucking far either, in real life the big gaps he does on video with just a static pedal kick are insane.

how the hell can you run a hard gear like that? i run a 20-19 with 170s and thats as hard as i can run effectively

I run 20-18 w/ 175s and its just a sliiiight bit harder than yours dave. I used to run 20-17, which is ~ what vince runs, and I probably still could with a slower engaging hub but never with a king....he's on an ACS claw.

    thank you for responds ..

i have 22-19 . which is the same as 18-15.55 . i could probably ride well with 18-15

Yes, I use 20-18 on a 175mm crank, and i love it, so nice, when i had a 18t freewheel on the front, i had both a 16 and a 15, i found the 16 too easy, so i tried the 15 and it felt so much better.
IMO i would go for 18-15.
TRA, are u thinking of using echo front freewheel cranks? i had 2 sets and they lasted me 3hours each before the threads stripped off them, i would avoid imo.

I used to have 22-19 on 170mm cranks. When I decided to go to tryall cranks with an 18t cog, I went to the slightly harder 15t rear vs. 16 (which would have been easier), but also got 175mm cranks to gain a little more leverage. I jumped on the new set up and didn't feel one bit different (except for the added ground clearance and now I'm theoretically putting more power into the rear wheel). You should have no problem with it TRA.

Keep in mind that changing from 22 to 18 up front puts about 22% more power on the chain. Which will increase chances of chain snap. I've never snapped a chain my self but I've seen some nasty vids of it happening...

hmm no he always rides with 18/15

    and his crancks are 175...

but sometimes he 's testing some products.... as crank in 170...
    but his cranks are 175...

he can't really changes of gear... because he has a shifter welded under seatpost...

kenny beleay changes of gear... between 18/15 and 18/16...

in france current setting with front freewheel is 18/15 for good riders...
    18/15 or 18/16 for others...

Thanks for the info on the gear ratio thing. I use a much lighter gear than these guys for sure.

Well I snapped my 2 week old SRAM chain with 22-18...maybe it was the way the gear was setup but damn...I almost slammed my ballz. It was the loudest bang-slap I ever heard :(
