That was sick! It looked like so much fun. Driving is one of the few things I love about winter. Driving a mini van is so much cooler though :ugh2:
was that Auraria campus?? looks like fun, wish i was there, or knew of a couple good parking lots up here.
it was in Aurora somewhere... we just drove around till we found empty lots. The best one we found had no light poles though... it's fun to try to swing a pefect arc around them without hitting them. :D
rrrr...SUVs give me the shits - fucking trucks with short, aggressive, married-to-money women by themselves and with shit to prove...in the words of the maybe-someday-great Mark Latham - I love this fucking language !

nice vid though - that car is so quiet - how awesome...fucking americans can't shut up for one second...rrr...nice car for a trials rider though ! I drive a holden commodore that I don't own...you in American probably don't know what Holden is...or commodore...unless you dig on old navy lore or have seen johnny depp's latest...

please don't delete me - I'll be a good aussie
Don't be a douche tomac, some people are car enthusiasts and of course we know what holden is.

And you are sounding like a fairy hippie with that SUV shit, come to the US where everyone has 3 of them. And johnny depp's latest was once upon a time in mexico, where he was the bomb. That pirates movie was so fucking gay i wanted to walk out.
i posted a picture of a Renault(not ren-alt... it's ren-oh) R5 turbo in the picture thread, i think i know what a holden Commodore is... we actualy have the Manaro here in the states now. It's called a Pontiac GTO though. Cool car none the less.

and i agree with you on the SUV's. they are fucking stupid. but jeep wasn't his, he has a WRX but he blew the tranny so he drove his parents jeep. THey are actually really good off-road for a luxo-suv... not that the owners have ever seen dirt.

Pirates of the Carribean was the second best Depp movie ever... but it was "popular"
Ya what is wrong wtih SUV's? I drive one, and i'm not rich, married, or a woman. Their off-road performance is great and I can pack four bikes(freeride) in the back of mine without a rack or anything, and mine is a true SUV (Jeep Cherokee) none of that Rice burner, Luxery suv crap.

Jeeps aren't SUVs and SUVs aren't Jeeps.

I know SUV's arent Jeeps, but how are Jeeps not SUV's?
I grew up out in "the sticks" as the area would be known out here - n'ary a sealed road to be found and a lot of rough country. Residents still chose small or medium cars, 4 or 6 cylinders. Not 4wds of the large "off-road" type. This is not a money thing either, they just aren't as practical as people think. What gives me the shits is that people buy them without ANY intention of using their off-road capabilities, they just like the idea of displacing a lot of air, people and petrol and feeling powerful. using 4wds as people movers is also irritating (get a minivan for God's sake !) but over half of the 4wds I see driving around in THIS city - which is far from representative and has a lot of wealthy yuppies - are being driven by a single person. Why use so much energy moving around a 2ton + vehicle simply for the sake of a sub 100kg person? it makes no sense. I'm usually a commuting cyclist unless I'm driving to a trials ride, and seeing all these selfish lazy fuckwits driving around fucking up MY air gives me the shits - it's the height of self-indulgence.

and I never said pirates of the carribean was any good - Depp's performance was by far the highlight.

People over there at the moment probably have much more realistic right to drive 4wds than over here, what with your snow and all.

I thought Holden was the Australia-only arm of GM. Sorry about that - I heard that the price of the pontiac GTO is actually LESS than the price of our monaro - not that I need to buy one. I've been putting a lot of crap into the boots of those things though - it'll be the next most regretted purchase of a million Australians I predict.

Trialsinsky, I'm sure you don't fit into my category.

if i owned a jeep i tell you some crap about how "it's a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand", but the cherokee and wrangler are more trucks than SUV's. The Grand Cherokee is deffinately an SUV.

and i still stand by my original opinion that Pirates of the Carribean was a great movie... on the other hand a hate every stupid fucking star wars movie ever made. dumbest shit ever.

Tomac, yeah Holden is owned by GM i believe and is australia only, however they are still their own company and do their own design/engineering work on the cars(except the engines and a few other odds and ends). We don't get Holdens over her unfortuneatly or any of the cool Ford Europe offerings. We do however get tons of useless SUV barges with 3 foot tall women driving them 20 mph under the speed limit in the passing lane while on their cell phones, putting on make up.

and no, there is no reason to drive an SUV over here, they are useless. the only reason to have one is if you are towing something like a boat, but most of them can't even do that well. as far as snow, there are plenty of snow tires to go around.

THANK YOU - I should've mentioned that towing, as well, is another borderline reason to own one of the things.

the truck thing pisses me off too - although it hasn't really taken off here - in american movies they all drive dodge, chevy or ford trucks and it just seems pointless to me. Over here a truck has at least four axles, otherwise it's a ute (abbrev. utility vehicle) and utes are an australian icon.

I sometimes drive one of these "utes" (when I need to move stuff or my Dad wants to use the "safe car" for interstate trips):

but most of the time it's one of these:

yeehaw - but my workmates still accuse me of driving like their respective grandfathers.

HSV kicks ass. Maloo is a funny name though. I like the R8's a lot.
I think I get what your saying, and Tomac i agree with what your saying about people who buy 4 wheel drive vehicles and dont use them are plain stupid, kind of like people with "show Trucks" its kind of an oxymoron. Since were on the vehicle topic look at this "mountain Biker" specific Jeep Wrangler http://www.jeep.com/jeep_life/legends/concept_vehicles/index.html?vehicle=mountain even comes with cheap walmart quality Mountain bikes!
that jeep thing is so lame...there was an ad for a ute here a while ago - can't remember the make/model but they got a half dozen trials riders to hop in/out of it for 30 seconds as their promo...flew them interstate for the shoot and paid them very very well I hear...Andre Q AKA Manuel was one of the lucky I believe...

and how does an American know whether he likes HSV or not? do you see any over there?
