its a drop shadow that was created in adobe.

use your imagination and pretend that there is a wall there and the is the TX state.

it's a web logo..... it's not going to look like a Freaking PHOTO.

    damn

Loose the drop shadow. It looks trashy.
And, I believe that NO Texan in his right mind would allow that star to fly. It should look more like that monster in front of the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. Now, THAT says Texas.
I like the idea about the cowboy hat.

"The Lone Star State" comes from the symbolism of the star on the 1836 flag of the republic, the "National Standard of Texas." The single golden star on a blue background signified Texas as an independent republic and was a reminder of the state's struggle for independence from Mexico. The "Lone Star" can be found on the Texas State Flag and on the Texas State Seal today.

My favorite quote from the 'Texascentric' History Museum by an Actor in a Stephen Austin costume, *heavy Texas accent* " . . . and then the Indians decided to convert to ranching and farming." Decided that all on there own did they? No outside influence?
