Squids....

What do you guys consider squids? Err, posers.... We all know what they are in the repective sports, but what constitues a poser in trials? Somebody that only/mostly does urban? So would Ryan Leech be considered a squid cause he's predominantly street and no comps?

I would think TRA is a squid...all big lines, doesn't really touch natty, showy...but I dunno, I'm a noob, so I dunno what really is or not, LOL. I hear he's only been riding a little over 2 years too...

a squid? hahaha I guess things are a little different down there in Florida. OK man, you named two of the best trials riders in the world. You're going to have to try harder than that!!! Ryan L arguably has the best bike control of anyone. It hardly makes him a poser that he does demos and vids instead of comps, because he doesn't even pretend to be good at comps. TRA would just school most people at a trials comp so I dunno what you're talking about. "TRA doesn't touch natty", wtf are you talking about?

Seriously though a poser is someone who sits there with their ($4000+) bike and doesn't ride. They will generally do a couple pedal-kicks up a curb, and then they will go on the forums and act like they are king shit and tell everyone how their parts never wear out because they are "oh so smooth" and how their bike weighs 18 lbs and that it's basically indestructable because they've been riding the same kit for 4 years now.
Well, those two were just examples, hope nobody mis-interpreted that I was saying THEY are, LOL.

Squid...well, that's a sportbike term...i.e.bikers who wear no gear to be "cool" and basically scream "HEY LOOK AT ME, I'M ON A MOTORCYCLE!" and don't really care about handling and think wheelies and stoppies are what riding is all about.....squid also sounds the most derrogatory, LOL.
Squids are def a sport bike term heh... I don't think you can really be a trials poser, it takes time to learn this shit and squids don't do that.

TRA touches natty, all you fucking squids wouldn't know that from his first video (far before any koxx or any of that shit, some gay red frame). However compete, dunno. To say someone like TRA or ryan are squids is just fucking dumb, and I personally hate ryan's riding- he has tons of talent, just not my bag...Squids are just people who buy the fastest bike they can buy, don't do the MSF course and just wnat to learn wheelies and how to look cool. You cannot look cool on a trials bike, sorry.
aye, word...TRA rode a zoo piranha too. he is pretty awesome every where... but i doubt he has the stamina for competing.
Did you see him do speed trials? I think he trains pretty heavily and has some stamina.
I thought squids were just weak people with no talent. Maybe it's different across state lines.
maybe so, it just doesnt seem like he would, maybe he is super human (hence his avatar in T-F)
that gay red frame was a Zebdi...jungle scheme
Yeah...squid is a sportbike term....just sounds more derrogatory than "poser".....

Again, I wasn't calling those two posers, I was just using thier riding as examples.....Ryan doesn't compete....no comps, or somebody that doesn't ride that much natty....
eh whatever, i just hate the people who spend more time on forums then on the bike, welp see ya later time to bike

Name one person who does that though...
pancho, your bike is horrible don't worry you aren't a poser.
like said above trials takes time to learn and posers want the best and fast. i know of a few posers. an example is somebody buying a 4k DH bike (sc bullit, shiver dc's, ck hubs etc) and not going bigger than 5 feet. FUCKING RIDICULOUS. he wants a vp free now. FUCKING RIDICULOUS
There are TONS of posers in DH, more than any other biking sport...if you have money you can pose...doesn't take a genius to go down things.

you made a funny... measuring skill in feet like that counts... tee hehehe :D

measure non-poser-ostiy-ness-atude on a dh bike by putting somone down a race course- non poser: 4 minutes, poser: 17 minutes.

anyone who says tra cant compete obviously isnt very aware of history. it took some serious endurance and long term power for a viking to take over a village or something or row those cool boats all over the place. quit naysaying on tra- he could still kick all the asses on this board even if some would argue about the "style" with which he did it.
