i use Sail repair tape (we sell it at our shop, www.kitepower.com.au) hehe, it comes in red, blue, yellow, white, black, green, well almost any colour but thats all we have in stock. $2.50per meter would need 2 for one strip but that would leave the inside sticky, and if you have holes, that would suck. So i lay the first strip down with sticky side up and then put another strip down so both sticky sides are touching. lovely. Oh and it weighs nothing for you weight watchers.
    works a treat :)
    Peace

strapping tape. Its strong as shit and doesnt weigh anything. Of course it does not come in fancy colors but its alot better than using duct tape, electrical tape or velox.

I used "course marking" tape and strapping tape on top. The marking tape can be found in hardware stores for about $2 per 2000 mile roll. It's already the perfect width for a try-all 47mm rim and dirt won't stick at all. It's the same stuff one would use to mark a section in a trials competition...if anyone knows what that is :)
