the results are crazy, I think no one expected that. I was there but didn't really get what was going on with Giacomo. He didn't even qualify for the finals! Bad day for him?

The reason the scores are so low for the UCI finals is that they do 2 rounds of 4 sections. In BIU they do 2 rounds of 10 sections. So, with more than twice as many sections you would expect the scores be higher in BIU. In UCI semi finals, they do 2 rounds of 8 sections, and the scores are higher as you would expect.

So are the finals more or less crazy hard sections that are really good for spectating, while the qualifying sections are like muddy hills in the woods?

in my expirence, worlds last year the stock and mod riders had to ride all these set setions, then for finals, they made stock ride mod sections backwards and vice versa, i mean, 90% was the same section, theyd change the tape here and there, and also they go from like 8 sections with 2 loops to like 5, so they can throw out the crappy sections........

Two rounds of 5 sections... Man that's like saying in golf hey let's just play 9 holes to decide the final round in the masters. Shady... I just think that having less sections presents a serious lack of terrain for testing a riders skillset.

From what I've seen of videos, the sections are QUITE varied (every one has completely different terrain- all rocks on grass, next is a waterfall with all logs, etc.) and test a riders abilites as best as possible.

but I do agree with 2 rounds of 5 sections being a bit light. Not that I could even try to walk any of those courses.
