Ok, so its only two tools. But a 4mm and 5mm allen cover most all adjustments and such needed during a ride. And I don't have to deal with anything in my pockets.
Find a place to put a little tube of tar too. I have a hollow bb area to work with because of my saint cranks. Or you could carry around a backpack, plus water and such.
pretty good idea, but i usually just carry around my tool kit (small with a bunch of allens and wrenches)
you'll probably need a few more tools to go along with this, but a good place for a spare tube is wrapped around the hub shell...
I don't usually carry tubes, pump, chain tool, and other assorted stuff as I'm most likely close enough to home or the car to have them there. If I'm heading out on a trail a ways from the parking area I'll toss on the Camelbak, for the tools and water. But having the 4/5mm allen on the bike lets me make small adjustements or tighten stuff right now without taking much of a break.
i once made the hole in the end of my grip bigger and slid my 5mm allen key into the end of that. secure fit, easy to remove and insert.
if you have hydro mounting you arnt using, a 5mm fits perfectly in there. Ruber band or similar is required to hold it. However, the tool i descoverd on friday night that is always attached to my bike is my mech bolt. It is perfect to stick in a ISIS bb so you can use a standard square taper crank extractor.
Swiss Army Trials bikes. I know caged pedals double as a beer bottle opener. Just gotta find a safe place for the nail file and fish scaler now...........
Hey Warpig, do you like the song "War Pigs" by Black Sabbath? Just asking cause of you registered name.
No, it's just a name I've kinda gotten stuck with. It originally came from an Unreal Tournament skin set I made years ago. I rode an S&M War Pig dirt jumping frame for awhile too. Had a spare sticker set I used on a XC bike as well...............
