do you need to do any major modifications to fit the RB lever blade to the hs33 body? need to take the piston out?

No. All you have to do is file the lever blade down a bit, so it will fit into the magura lever body.

I'll apologize in advance for the newbness of this question but, is there any difference in the ZOO! boa frame and the ECHO pure frame? Besides the stickers, of course.

Zoo is 10mm shorter and has 72.5 headangel(pure has 71.5 i think). And the shape of the downtube and seatstays are bit different.

and the pure has a tiny brace welded between the non-drive seat/chainstays near the dropout.

Thanks for RB info, seeing as my mag will soon be obsolete anyway I might try it, I always like the rb blade, just not the rest of the lever.

Boa is a really flexy frame, pure is a lot stiffer. geometry of boa is awesome, but the flexyness gets annoying sometimes.
