My custom FTW mod frame is almost done..

A little history, back in 07', my former sponsor Tim Williamson of Trialsin USA.Began talking to me about getting a custom stock frame made by one of the best bicycle welders around,Frank the Welder-FTW.Then Tim sold the company to Vaughn Michie later that year and I was lucky enough to be able to get the first WTF stock frame.I do like riding stock, you'll most likely find me on a mod bike though.

I really wanted a custom mod bike and it took a while for FTW to agree to make me one, price was involved and time.I really wanted to get rid of all of my other mod frames and just have one mod and one stock. What better to have two frames made by the same person, who has that kind of skill and reputation behind making frames.Frank just recently sent me an update of the welded mod and now it just has to get heat treated, powder coated and sent back to me.I thought I'd share the process with you guys, since I had no idea what really went into making a frame. It's not the entire process,it does give you some perspective.I had FTW beef the hell of the frame,so he claims you can run over it with a car..lol..you probably could..lol.I had him add two options for brakes, just in case I wanted to change up and I went with a bash guard as well..

Once I get it back,I'll post the frame and then one with it built up.I just have to come up with a name for it,feel free to help me with that process..

That thing is nuts. Frank is such a talented guy. I can understand why he said you could run it over with a car... which is perfect for you. You'll have that thing forever. Looking forward to seeing it when it's all done.

Bobby, you could start a museum of trials frames with all the bikes you have!
I know Tom,I do have a shit load of frames,I am trying to down size. When you come down again,we can ride and you can test my mod..

Wow, I was so hoping a mod version of the wtf would come out, and it's beautiful... I have only one concern by the pictures, the upper chainstays look really wide where your ankles will be, will there be much clearance for the crank arms?
This isn't a little wtf mod version,I had FTW take some geo from a koxx mod I liked and I just tweaked out the geo a bit, according to my size and height.I won't have the answers to the crank question, until I build it up..I assume I won't have any issues,I am pretty SOLID that FTW would of fixed any problems..

Thanks for all the kick ass comments, even the guy who bogarted my post with his own FTW pics..lol..I can't wait to get the frame and build it up,I've been looking forward to getting a FTW mod since 07'..

thedman..I kind of like the name "the terminator"..it flows well..

absolutely gorgeous work..i had heard frank was done making trials stuff? but i guess will always take custom orders hopefully?

beautiful bikes guys..dman cant wait to see how yours turns out
It wasn't easy to get FTW to just make one frame,it took a long time to get everything dialed in.It's cool that FTW will accept making a trials frame, considering that most custom frame builders won't.I tried to get Independent Fabrication(IF) to make one for me back in 01' and they weren't down with the idea at all..

I'm just super psyched about it and once I get it built up and dialed in,I'll post it up..

thanks..
