    We all know it.

"The one time you don't wear shinguards is the time that shin will meet pedal."

Nothing extreme, but it got me tonight. Had washed out my pads earlier in the day, and they were still wet. No problem, I'll go easy. Yeah...

Foot slipped off because of a wet shoe. Nothing extreme, but enough to remind me that I do prefer wearing the shinguards.

(besides, its been what, three days since we've had a shin carnage picture? :p)

Oh yeah, VP pedals, single cage. Got a double bounce hit though. Doesn't look nearly as bad cleaned up, so I'm not posting that picture. ;)

heh, vp pedals always slip when your foots wet. trash them and find something else (aircorps are nice ;) pricey though...).

pictures are always better when the blood is gushing out of the open wound

cutting your shins suck! that looks mighty painful.

I stopped wearing shinpads about a year ago, I find them annoying.
    Heres the price I pay:D

    holy shit again.

how the hell did you do that to yourself? I'm thinking snapped bottom bracket shin rape? That looks like something out of texas chainsaw massacre.

After looking at that picture, my shins look much prettier.

wow, that looks amazing, did you do anything to it, or do you just not scar badly?

My shins look like I was beaten with a bamboo cane.

oh wait, I did get beaten with a bamboo cane.

Both those shins look fine, or at least how a trials rider's shins should be.... or at least how most do...

I know what you mean about murphys law though, "I wont even ride, just hang out for twenty minutes, dont need shin gaurds." I really regreted that.

I'll post pics cuz its really quite funny.

EDIT: I found 2 ok pics...
https://www.observedtrials.net/album/showphoto.php?photo=1364&size=big&sort=1&cat=553 - 26 stiches. Taken right after I put dissinfectant on, hence the extra gooeyness
https://www.observedtrials.net/album/showphoto.php?photo=1365&sort=1&size=big&cat=553 - current scars. They started out bright pink/purple, now they have mellowed alot in colour.

I will try to get a pic later tonight, but I am missing about 1.5-2 cm of FLESH in a small (2 cm diameter circle) right at the top of my shin. Reason; My XTR lever got stuck in my leg. I did it on a tire tap on a vertical wall, cased the landing and yeah. After I pulled it from my leg I didnt feel any pain, I think I killed the nerves...luckilly its not infected.

    YAY !!
I have little to no scars because of my shin guards!
Not that it matters because im Wog and have gorrilla legs and you cant see the skin through the hair any ways.

wow 26 stitches....I've been wearing 661 knee/shin guards for every ride for the past 3 years, 3 weeks ago I stopped wearing them and I love it. I feel like I ride better, it's cooler (temperature and style) and I don't feel like a bulky hockey player...but after seeing those pics I'm putting them back on for the next ride.
