OK, I bought a full set of HS33s. But my Megano fork only has disc mounts, so my front HS33 isn't going to be used, leaving me with another booster.

Question is, I hear the stock Magura Boosters suck. But My boosters have a different design. They have the small triangle holes instead of circles.....prolly same lateral stiffness but that isn't the question, LOL.

If I put BOTH boosters on my rear, will it increase rigidity at all? It'll save me some cash from buying a Threshold. I'de THINK it'de be stiffer, and by the looks of it, it appears to be the same thickness as a Threshold.....

Anybody ever do this (be ghetto, LOL)?

*edit**
This is the one people talk about:

This is the one I have:

Do they have the same stiffness? Afterall, triangles are less susceptible to flex (simple physics)

thresholds gets their stiffness from contacting all 4 bolts. buy one. for now though throw on both boosters you have- maggies typically need all the help they can get, another booster will help that. those boosters kinda stink by the way compared to what a trials rider needs.

Well, I saw that Thresholds have a 2-bolt one and a 4 bolt one. Will the 4-bolt one work on my frame? Why the hell is there a 2-bolt one then? I thought it was like one for DEDICATED magura mounts, and the other for just HS33......eh, what do I know?

I dunno....now I'm all confused. Cause the Try-all brake booster as well as several others only have two holes, .most of the 4-hole boosters are for mods. Hmm.....but running DUAL Maggie boosters isn't a problem till I get my Threshold?

Naw, I heard the Magura ones SUCK. And since I'm not using my front HS33, I was thinking about using TWO Magura Boosters to see if it'd equal the strength of an aftermarket one.....LOL, kinda ghetto way of saving cash, but why spend money if you don't have to?

Yeah...I just ordered some Spanish Fly's. Seeing if anybody else doubled up on a booster. Yeah, it's cheaper for a Threshold than buying two Magura Boosters, but what if you're in my scenario, LOL, wonder if it's still stiffer. We'll see. Can't wait to get rolling. My Intense tire arrived today, but my Michelins arrive tomorrow, as do my Magura Julies. Friday comes my crank and the rest of my bike :) I'm happy.....

on my worst bike ever planet x mod i had to sun a salsa booster on the underside of the frame and two chopped thresholds on the top side... super good (except not, it still sucked because it was planet x trying to make a fookin mod).

you can run two maggie boosters without any problems, just make sure your bolts still have plenty of thread contact in whatever you are threadign them into. the reason try-all boosters have only two holes is because like the maggie ones they only contact the two upper holes on the koxx frames. the best thing to run for dedicated 4 bolt maggie mounts is a threshold 4 bolt booster.

yea the one you bought from tim has 4 bolt mounts. megamo sells the bikes with some 2 bolt steel boosters not unlike v ones, that bolt onto the bottom mounts, but theyre pretty iffy. use what you have now, and get the threshold soon. just make sure the booster has holes wide enough for the mounts on the frame.

Will do....we'll see when I can actually get one. My LBS don't carry the "goods" so everything, well, 90% of it is gonna be online purchases. So I take it Threshold is the best 4 bolt booster?

Dunno about your frame, but my Megamo's got 4-bolt mounts on the rear and a booster that uses all 4 bolts. Those dinky Magura boosters are for non regular frames and Evo adapters. Better than nothin' but not very effective.

Are you handy with tools and metal? Make a booster out of a plate of steel or aluminum. :bigthumb:

My friend has a CNC machine in his garage. I might get him to cut me something. It'd be fairly simple to make. considering it's what you call 2D. You wouldn't need to take out the piece to cut out the holes(no holes on the side, only on the face). But the cost of billet stock and his electricity ($60 an hour to just have it running, LOL), it might be a better idea to just buy one, LOL.....who knows, it'd be one off though....Hmmm......
