    Hi all,

In Art at the moment we've just started a topic on the theme of "Icons".

Such as an iconic building could be the Eifel Tower, the White House, the sydney opera house ...

Or, an icon as a person, such as Adolf Hitler, Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods ...

Or, an icon as a logo, such as VW , Sony etc.

If you could post some of your most memorable icons that would be sweet...

    Thanks.

John Tomac and the bald eagle that Troy Lee painted on his helmets. He was so dominant in XC, DH and DS racing for so long.

Julie Furtado for the same reasons.

The George Washington memorial. It stands out above everything when you drive into DC from the west or south.

    The Grand Canyon

    Half Dome and El Cap

    People in cycling, for me...

Ned Overend - for whupping kids half his age

Greg Herbold - for being the crazy looney he is

Juli Furtado - for just generally kicking ass in MTB racing; something like 17 first place finishes in a row?

(i already feel some shit talking coming on from Dustin about this one.)

seriously though I would have to say Americans going over sea's and tearing shit up. Its the beginning of Americans actually being able to compete competively around the globe.

I researched Adolf Hitler a bit, he also was an artist, plus i just thought of 'the car' as in 'automobile' as an icon, and has been an icon ever since they were first invented and put to use in the streets.
