fyi thats not the xtp...it got cracked the day before on the same move.
Wow. No wonder he cracked/broke the headtube area thing, it looks weak anyways.
hmmm. that's damn big hehe
anyway, wouldn't most frames crack under that kind of stress? i would think so.
that looks a little big...
how to make a frame more exotic- weld thin tubing to a big machined headtube.... unless they made the tubing on the new xtp butted and much thicker at the ends, i dont see how those frames are going to hold up as well as the last ones with just gussets... then again- i dont really know what im talking about.
some deal from trials-forum. who knows though.
yeah I read that.
I also don't believe it for a second....its a prototype, they are supposed to break...especially with his insane force.
same as your bike.. go take a look at it.
Youre right though Kevin.
Going from solid lump to thin (1.2mm, at a guess) tube in a distance of less than a few mm causes a massive stress riser. Its no wonder his frame broke. (That quote on TF is from Fred Savage, UK Koxx distributor, who's nose is comparable to that of Pinocchio (wish i could spell...)).
It had no gusset on the Proto version, something im sure they'll fix for the production frame. Nothing wrong with a proto frame breaking if its been front hooked 1.76m repeatedly!! (The pic is of the 1.99m hook he didnt make, but tried a few times)
pinocchio is right, congrats tart, you can spell despite your nationality.
phat farm Yo! Holler!!
