should i be using a metal grinding wheel or a thiner metal cutting disc?

i picked a grinding wheel up yesterday for the angle grinder we have here at work, and the backside looks like fresh blacktop and its about 1/4" thick. its a grinding wheel. but i've heard everyone say they use a metal cutting disc, but they seemed kinda flimsy to be pressed hard at an angle. :?

Grinders won't make as rough edges on the rim as they become dull.

I have always used a grinding wheel myself. Seems to work fine for me

i use grinding wheels too. after 6 grindings, i get a new disc. it becomes dull after a few grindings, so a new disc is always cool. plus they cost nothing. grinding wheels leave a deep grind. i'll have to try cutting wheels, see if theyre better. but yea, i hear they shatter and shoot shrapnel at you if you press them hard on an angle..

Though my dremel technique has been likend to a slopping application
of pussy juice ,the grinding wheel you want is the one with the most course surface. This allows for the maximun peak/trough depth. But I still am holding that my dremel teq is the newww shizzz. :bigthumb:

tioga rims are hard like diamonds, took a lot longer than i thought, but it was cool to see the powdercoat spark up into tiny flames
