So I finally have my video edited to a song using FCP 4 only I've been playing the song in quicktime while I've been editing the video. Anyway, the song is in mp3 format. I imported into fcp 4 and moved it down into track 1 and 2, and it sounds like crap when I play my video as compared to how it plays in quicktime and real time. Why is this, and how can I prevent it? To be more descriptive, it sounds like the amplitude of the signals is too high every once and a while so it kind of pops. I used the audio mixer to turn the song down, but it doesn't reduce the noise. Any help would be appreciated.

Never mind, I found that it has to do with the rate of the recording.

import the song from cd, in .aiff form using itunes, then put that into fcp4 and the quality is perfect. the file will be bigger of course, but music is important enough.
