Ok everybody-

After trying not to step on too many other toes of MSC and Gnorba events going on this is pretty much what we have to work with:

Mid-late March- Lakewood (maybe, have to arrange permission to hold a comp there but i'm only going to do that if there are enough people that want to ride there) the other option is moab- i know its a long drive but if it were a two or three day riding session... it would be sweet- your thoughts?
April 17/18- Boulder Canyon (not sure of the exact spot but seth will be coming through about this time so i would like to have an event while he's here)
May 15- Gunnison- rage int he sage, this event is definately going on. Greg has been doing an amazing job with this event- it HAS to be part of a series we are doing in CO.
May29-31- Colorado Springs- big ballerz coming through around this time. event/camps/pant crapping sessions will be going on down there!
June 26/27- Georgetown maybe- some mtn folk location around there. i want one event up in the mtns around here. elan and i will find something great to ride... i mean come on... the mountains are made of natural!
July 3/4- probably not the best time to have an event with lots of people likely busy with family stuff on but i was thinking have one somewhere at this time. any thoughts?
July 17/18- Ft collins- there needs to be an event in ft fun. if horstooth is still exposed it may be there. if not there then the poudre canyon will work great too.
Aug 21/22- Vedavoo. yes we will have to venture out of colorado for this one but it will be good!
Sept 11/12 Another ft collins/boulder event- either in boulder canyon at a different spot or which ever spot in ft collins we didnt use earlier in the season.

There may also be salida in there but im not sure- i havent heard anything about whether or not the banana belt is going on this year.

there will also be the durango gnorba event again...

keep in mind this is a very preliminary schedule and it can be changed. we are going to have a lot more flexibilty this season with when we can have events. also dont expect to get reamed like some people did at msc events last season- they dont want to deal with us and we dont want to deal with them- that's over. please post your thoughts on this version of the schedule- i didnt take into account school finals while laying this out so if half our riders will miss because of finals- i will move something around.

the mountains ARE made of natural, i will do some scouting in my general area, if all else fails, i have my aunt's horse ranch, which is huge, and on the side of a fucking mountain.

I have no problems setting up the fort collins sections. Up at horsetoothe there are a few areas that are not going to be enveloped by the evil water- the water ridge, the green ridge and the suicide cliffs...the green ridge would be best as I don't want to see anyone die.

I can also set up sections at numerous spots up at the poudre, but this would take longer.

I can set up the veedawoo sections as well...

help with sections will definately be appreciated-

i was thinking that if the rage in the sage has the trials down at this rafting park that we should plan on having abother one there at another point in the season at hartman rocks (because that place reigns burrito supreme).

any thoughts on the possibility of a moab trip? if we all pitched in on a couple of hotel rooms and went out for like 3 days riding, 2 night stay... might be cool beans!

that schedule looks good to me, i will be out of the country around the Gunnison one, which kinda sucks, spring break is mid march some time. In general saturday comps are hard for me to attend as i am a salesman and saturdays are the busiest days, but i could do a couple here and there. i would be down for helping set sections too.

Sweet, thanks Kevin,
Yes I will be there at that time for sure. And if I hook up with Jeremy in Oregon (pretty sure I will) I'm gonna try to talk him into a trip to Colorado this summer.
And for those of you thinking about the Moab trip, what about the weekend after April 17th and 18th? Usually May is too hot anyway.
Just a thought, let me know because Teresa and I are going to Moab after Boulder anyway......Word SETH.

Sounds like we're going to have alot of cool comps for me to get whipped at. The CO Springs crap session sounds interesting Kevin.. Will this be a National comp? Andrew, are you graduating in May? ..thinking about heading back to the east coast?

First off, you forgot the NATS event on August 14th. It will be held in Manitou Springs. This is looking to be a pretty big deal, I've gotten quite a few e-mails about this event already, possibly the largest event of the year, next to the Nationals I'm also doing down here memorial day weekend.

The National here in the Springs is looking to be INCREDIBLE. Everything is working out great, and I'll be able to give everyone more detail probably by the end of the week.

If you have any specific questions about either of these two events, feel free to e-mail me or call me.

i didnt forget it... its not part of our series- its nats :bigthumb:

well so far i think this should be pretty darm close to what the real schedule will turn out to be. i think im getting the hell out of highschool in mid-may. after that i will have a lot more time to devote to the series. thsi year i want to get pro sections to push people like matt and josh and robbie... the top guys shouldnt be cleaning crap. expert and sport and beg will be relatively close in difficulty as pervious years.

seth- im probably up for moab the weekend after april 17/18.. have to wait and see when it gets closer though.

as for comps being on sat or sunday- i figured some people would rather see them on saturday and others would like to see them on sunday so if we kind of switch them up a little through the season that should help make some people happy.

AHHHH, I get it, this isn't a comprehensive list of all Colorado comps, just the Colorado series...

So how exactly will the Norba Nationals down here that I'm working on tie into the Colorado Series? I think we it'd be awesome if you found a way to tie all the events together into something series like. But that's up to you, it sounds hard...

Oh, and the Moab trip sounds great, count me in.

i think we should leave the nats event on its own- if we are going to have a "series" then every event in it needs to be run under the same rules- which wouldnt be the case if we took in the nats one too. it will still be a really great event and all that jazz but it just wont go into the colorado points series. gunnison is all about the rules and types of sections we are looking for so they will be in for sure. i had also considered incorperating the norba at durango into the series and i think thats more reasonable since it will be under the same set of rules. there will not be trials at the snowmass national so we wont have to worry about that.

if anyone hears anything about the banana belt, please post or shoot me an email. i have been unable to find anything out about it this season.

Oh, BTW, I would like to compete this year in the beginner class. I would love to have a coach. If anyone wants to mentor me or be a Jedi master, let me know, I'm up for learning. I buy my coaches beer, and drive them to the events, and don't charge them gas. Oh, I'm also a good bike mechanic and have an entire shop with professional tools... I'll wrench as well. :bigthumb:

I agree completely, I never really thought the Nats event would fit well with the rest of the Colorado events in terms of a series, I just didn't realize this post was only about the Colorado Series.

I'm so excited to see this season come together, complete with UCI rules and without Mtn States Cup. It will be somewhat of a loss (events like Keystone) but regardless, this season is gonna be good.

Thank you Kevin
