Ok then, i have a hope mono mini, and since new it has never seemed to give awsome power, i am thinking of sanding the pads off then bedding it in again, what would the best way to do this be?

Just pour water on the caliper and pads and ride with the brakes on. Works like magic. Well actually im not sure if it will work on your hope, it worked with my avid though.

-pretty much, or use water. either before or after you get them hot, or both ways. Go ahead and scuff up the pads a little though to rule out glaze, dust and crap.

I felt a few bikes with minis and none of them had what Id call good power, not like an avid or magura atleast. Maybe it was just their bikes but Iver heard it enough from the guys using them to believe them a little.

Are there pad options for those brakes or are you stuck with hope's?

Hmmm... I'll have to try the water trick on my new pads tomorrow. Did many stops on a couple trips down a 1/3 mile hill nearby. Almost got the pads working.

Though not totally related to pads. It's a good idea when using a hydro
brake to have your disc mounts faced.Any good shop shold have the tool.
This insures perfect pad alignment, since most mounts have paint or sloppy
    forging on the mounting surface.
This doesn't matter as much for Avid mech's since thay can be adjusted all over the place.
