Hi there, I'm new to trials. I just stumbled across trialsride.com a few weeks ago, and now I'm hooked! I've been seriously riding BMX for over 4 years, and now I'm starting to add trials stuff to my list of tricks. It's way fun. Yesterday I did my best trials trick ever. There were 4 picnic tables back to back (with the benches touching) and I got on the bench, then on the table top, then I hopped on my back wheel across all 4 tables, then dropped off. I think that's called lurches? Anyway, it's good to be a part of such an awesome sport now.

Do any of you do trials on BMX bikes?

The first bike I ever did rear wheel stands on was a 20" Schwinn with banana seat, ape hangers and coaster brake.

You can practice trials moves on a BMX bike no problem, but you'll find that a dedicated trials bike will feel a whole lot better.

BMX bikes have their place though. It's hard to smith grind on a disk brake rotor :bigthumb:

I'd love to see video if you can ever get around to it.
Ok, I'd love to post a video of it, but I don't know how. I could get my brother to film it with a digital camera today, but once I get it on the computer how do I post it so you can see it??? If you can tell me how, I will post it as soon as possible. Thanks.

ya, please post a vid, sounds pretty schwank. i've never really trialsed on a BMX, as for me it's impossible to pedal kick with such big gearing ratios. but you must be real strong? post the vid!
I don't know what kind of gear ratios you guys use, but mine is 36t on the front and 16t on the rear.

I use 22 front 18 rear..
But my main concern if I were to do trials on a bmx would be the brakes. U-brakes are very weak. But you have perhaps fitted v-brakes?

You can always upload movies to this site: http://www.eengoedidee.nl
Not ideal as the site is sometimes slow and not everyone can get it to work.
You could perhaps ask this forums Administrator if he feels like hosting. I saw he had a post about it some time ago.

That's what it told me when I wasn't logged in. This is what it says on the website,
"*Please note: If you are a member of the free Yahoo! Briefcase service, public access to your uploaded files will no longer be available. However, you will still be able to share your files with people with Yahoo! IDs and via email."
If you have a Yahoo! ID, and it still doesn't work, then let me know, because that means I did something wrong.
