best lever with a avid mech disc brake

    alright, here is another newbie stupid post by me. What would be a good inexpensive lever to go with a avid mech. disc brake? I would like to use a xtr lever but dont have an extra so im loooking for a inexpensive replacement.

    maybe a used XT? They have very close design. Whatever you do, dont get the LX, their not good for trials. I think the Avids SDs are ok.

    I would go with an avid Speed Dial 7, fairly inexpensive.

    avid fr-5 they are light and inexspensive and have a very nice feel

    I would go with the LX. Especially if you have short fingers or like a close reach. To each his own. Avid levers suck. XTR and Deore are ok...

    XT the only cheap alternative for the Avid mech if you're not running XTR. Avid levers feel like warm dung. LX is a crap design lever for trials.

    All depends on just how cheap you need to go...

    Actually I rode a bike with deore levers for a few months, and it rocked prety hard...SUPER cheap.

    Fooking deore all the way mate, cheap and cheerful, aint gona break, but will stop you. End of thew days it's only a lever for the front and if you are not spending alot then it isn't to important

    I used to use avid's low end levers which were alright, but now I am using avids sd5 and it's made a big difference, I got them used. So I am pretty happy. Never used any shimano levers above probably acera's quality range, so I cannot say anything about shimano.
