of course we arent going to catch up right now, but the next generation of riders from the US very well could. we have a different attitude towards the sport than the euros do right now and that is keeping us back above anything else.
and by the way, we were the least joke-iest yet this year. the courses are designed to push the top 10 guys in the world and for the rest to five them. take for example the junior 26 class i was in. i got 17th, not so good. but the gap between me and say 10th is not as big as the gap between 10th and 8th. the handfull of guys at the top of each class tool everyone else. considering this was the 4th year we have had a uci trials program and the germans have been doign trials for over 30 years now i think we are doing just fine on catching up.
