Some tech rocks, some poor filming

Light was low, wind was high, framing is off, but I got out there for a bit.

I got it free used so take that into account. First up the best mod tire I have ever used was the Monty Eagle Claw, I loved the predictability of it. It would fold,, but almost like a well damped suspension that never tossed you around. I still have one of those in reserve if I find my way to a comp. I have never tried their latest pro race though. I have come to like the try-alls, but you have to ride them differently, they have tons of bounce, but lack stability on off camber stuff. You have to run them with a little more pressure and pre load like crazy, but then they are good. The Gekok is something in the middle, I think I've finally found the sweet spot in pressure so it folds on sharp stuff but other than that compresses and bounces fine without feeling to stiff. It is just a "beige" feeling tire to me, not much personality, but nothing bad either (other than no outstanding characteristics). Better than a Maxxis, somewhere between the Euro brands in feel. Those are my thoughts on it.

thx, that was very helpful
I too think the 1st gen eagle claw is the best and tarty just got them back in stock.
It's crazy how you cant really get a good tire above 1000g anymore.
As i dont believe in weight saving (I'm around 200lbs ) i can see myself buying the eagle claw one more time.

nice tire essay. christ.

I remember those rocks. Good stuff whiskey.

If you could hop your way back up those 6000 steps to your house, you might beat Ot Pi in Mexican sky scraper worlds

Extra credit for my essay. Here's a pretty good gap from an off camber root (and from the flat top the first time). Tire held really well, I think I would have done better with a couple more psi in it for bounce, but still it held fine for this. And yes I know it looks like I landed to rocks in the last angle, but no way I would have bounced right up from there, plus I had pulled it a handful of times by then. Going to cross post in clip of the day because I want all the OTN attention I can get before you all leave for the new forum.
