Road Trip: Dallas, Texas to Moab, Utah

Well, 6 of us Texas and Oklahoma riders made a great week-long trip out to Moab, Utah for some great XC, DH, and Trials riding. Some of the highlights of the trip included our SlickRock Night Ride, our snow-covered Porcupine Rim ride, our isolated canyon Trials ride, and some of the other guys can tell you about their near-death rock crawling adventures. Anyways, HERE IS A LINK to all of the pictures. Some of my favorites are posted below. Enjoy.

Riders: Stan (Caisso and Gray Santa Cruz), Jeff (ZOO! Pitbull and Intense 5.5), Patrick (Echo Team and Cannondale Prophet), Jack (Soul Cycles SESSION and Specialized FSR XC), Austin (Monty X-Hydra and Specialized StumpJumper) and Me, Ross (Echo Control).

Sunrise just outside our campsite

View from atop the SlickRock practice loop

Climbing to our secluded trialsin' spot

Entering our trials spot

Patrick gapping to front wheel

The whole group on top of the Porcupine Rim trail

Jeff, Patrick, and Jack climbing on the Porcupine Rim trail

Patrick dropping on the Prophet

12 Bikes for 6 people

Stan gapping and upping to front wheel

This time to rear

Me, gapping to two wheels...or something

Me, gapping the water

Me, preparing for a sidehop up

Stan, nailing a big sidehop

Me, on the big wall

Again

Stan with a huge gap

Nice view after the gap

Setting up for the same gapm

Gapping...

Trying a large sidehop...never made it though

Stretching out for a pretty big tap rollup thing

Stan, in the middle of a huge pedalup

As always, I wish i would have taken more pictures...and video, that always happens. I have some footage that I might try to make a short little video out of...we'll see.

I slept not. I am actually feeling pretty good. I had some anxious energy when I got to Jack's house b/c I really wanted to get back to Norman. I feel like I could go for a ride. Those pics should be posted at LEAST until I graduate...so Fall of 2009 ish.

That riding seems to be of the Sickness. Pictures are nice too. You bringing that crew out to colorado again this summer?

I can identify with the whole roadtrip/no sleeping/the excitement of new riding spots....

holy awesome. Was that secret spot really that good for trials? Sounds like a great trip, and good pictures too by the way.

Thanks for the info in the PM Patrick

I assume that picture of "Patrick dropping on the Prophet" was on Porcupine rim trail? I remember that drop - I think it's called the diving board? I ate shit off it and skinned my knee real bad there. Good times. Good times.

Yep, that was the porc rim.. Probably my favorite trail of all time. I looked at the high part of "the diving board", but the landing is almost completely flat
