Lakeside Trials Park
This weekend I installed a small trials training spot for myself in my back yard, with the help of johnglazer, muddyfox, and va tick.
... and a Volvo mini excavator!
It turned out better than I had hoped.

Thanks to everyone involved, you get a free years pass to the park!
And of course thanks to my wife for letting me get away with it!

I thought you might like that, and it fit perfect! There is no simple access to it either. I tried to set up another similar skinny on the back side with a suspended 90 deg. corner... denied! oh well.
As far as cost... a trade for a table custom built in a traditional Japanese rustic design. sweat equity I guess.
if I was to guess at the actual cost...
The street drug ROCK goes for @ $250.00 a ton (each one of those rocks weighed from .5 to 1.5 tons) plus delivery.
Rental of a mini @ $750.00 a day
Ability to operate the mini... priceless! (I just happen to be a licensed operator)

That's a splendid idea! I think the rocks make a nice estetic piece in the garden as well as training facility for yourself. When I ever buy a house I would really like something like that, or better yet a garden with natural rocks or a small cliffside or something =)

The arch is a previous piece, it's hand built in the old way (dry laid) by my dad and I, there is a fire pit in the center.
The wife says: now that I have the other rocks, I can stop riding the rocks near the arch! oh-well.
And yes- I went out of the lines a little... It would have been nice to create more islands of rocks, but the boss said no.

nice. there was this really fancy house that had insane amounts of rock work done a block away from me. it looks like the house built into a boulder field. while the house was being built they had a mini quarry for a while on this abandon school property right by the house, it was way fun.
