mod/stock

Mod or stock? I ride the stock dual disk Monty, I really like it. Avid Eight inch adapter had to be filed down a lot to fit on the frame. Other than that, its nice.

yeh, the mod is what im asking about.

i have a hope mini on the front of my 02' monty that i love,
but for the rear i am thinking the avid cable disc. i dont know if anyone else here has tried it, but oh my god, its the most powerful disc brake ive ever used, the locking power is amazing. mind you i think the 180mm rotor on a 20" wheel doesnt hurt!..

but over, great performance, and I hate cable brakes!........reassuring to have as a rear brake in my opinion.....

ive acutally used those hope trials brakes on a stock bike......wasn't that impressed with them overal...

Hey Bushlawyer, I had a ride on one just last weekend, and I can tell you now, the Martas were very good!!

My mate Ben got it a week before the comp and said that the brakes weren't working too flash. After some steep road runs, the pads were bedded in properly and the lock-up was awesome.
The other thing I noticed about it was how quiet it was. Not even a woosh!!

Personally I didn't like the feel of the bike though, compared to my long Echo team it feels really cramped, but I put most of it down to the new Monty risers which feel like shit.

It has definately improved Bens confidence, and I think that comes down to the brakes. It just remains to be seen how the discs work in water.
