Echo 24 BB and Zhi cranks.

Wonder why it is every time I buy cranks I get shi@? These Zhi cranks won't go on far enough? The BB screw isn't long enough, that make the second set of cranks like this, the neon and now these... Any suggestions?

I just wacked it with a rubber mallet and forced it on on the non-drive side. Have to get a new freewheel before I do the other side. Just about ready to ride.

Some isis crank/axle setups require small spacers. If you jam them on, it will break small pieces off of the inside of the crank interface. (Ask me how I know this, lol) Hopefully that's not what's going on here.

This is what I'm talking about. It seems like the crank machining is not quite large enough for the spindle.

Let the crank arm tell you all about it's problems and buy it some shit, then the axle will slide right in there.

ISIS BB spindles have a slight taper, so if your cranks slid all the way on to the spindle there'd be something wrong. Some cranks just sit further out when they're new - Try-All CNC ISIS cranks usually take a while to bed in to most spindles and sit further on, for example. Basically - they shouldn't be able to go all the way on, so them not doing that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I was wondering as I ordered one as well. But reminds me of the older Fast BB like the Echo & Moe when I had to use a mallet as well.

They are LIGHT and feel really good so smacking it a bit wasn't too bad.

I just fitted some Trial tech ISIS cranks to my Echo BB, went on and stopped with about 2mm more space than the echo cranks, but after riding for short while and then re-fitting all was OK.

My new ZHI cranks (on a Worldcat BB) stopped a little too far out (2mm) but it's a good tight fit with plenty of overlap. Looks like ZHI machines their ISIS interface a little small.

Slightly hijacked question here. My PX Zebdi is in Kentucky and may need a new BB. Is it square tappered or what would be the replacement?

After riding these a few times and retightening, my cranks are perfect now.
