Auburn Sunday (Oct 3) 10AM

At around 10AM on Sunday, there should be several riders decending on the Mammoth Bar Mototrials Park. Including, but not limited to: Nikolai, Justin, and Jon.
I've invited the Unicyclists. We'll see if they show. They're pretty good. It's worth showing up just to watch them.

You can get directions to Mammoth Bar of teh intraweb. Just do a search....

or give me a ring (530) 759 9992

nikolai why dont you make it 8 am! 10 am rides, thats ridicoulous. Having said that, I am giving serious thought to staying the night in the bay, then hitting up auburn on the way back up to chico tomorrow. It all depends on how badly I gimp myself today at bekerley.

It looks like it costs 5 bucks to get into Mammoth Bar these days. We were far too cheap to pay that, so we went to the confluence. I stayed on stuff that was no more than 1 foot off the ground just because I was having waking nightmares about getting hurt again on the bigger stuff. I did okay. I'm not sore right now and I really didn't experience any pain, but I was taking it easy.

I got pretty sweaty. You might have thought that I went for a swim.

I did however dispel this notion that Jon is "good" by setting some sections on the small rocks that I was sticking to.

you cheap bastards, you'll spend $10 on gas, but not $5 for an entry fee?

I like that park mainly cuz all the rocks there are pretty safe, not too big and nice soft grass everywhere, or was it mud? Would you guys(nikolai, justin, jon bott) be interested in bald rock next weekend? Say saturday?

I'll be at a conference next weekend. Jon reads these boards, I'm sure he'll try to organize a trip up there.

There are days when motos aren't allowed to ride-- I bet it's free to get in then. It might have even been a special event fee.

And I agree, those rocks are pretty sweet.

Are these particular rocks adjacent to the parking area? That area was
developed by a local moto trials guy working with the rangers several
years ago as restrictions were imposed on moto trials in the park.

We used to be able to have many moto trials sections scattered
throughout the park and the club put on several events every year
and even hosted some nationals there.

It's got lots of very nice rocky creek sections which are probably still
accessible by bicycles, some that are not too far from the parking
area. I'll bet the rangers won't even require green stickers and
spark arrestors for the bicycles although one truly never knows. :-)

Hey, I wish that there were bike trials at local moto trials
events. I think that moto trials riders appreciate the skills that
bike trials riders display and I know that bike trials helps improve
moto trials riding.

Later!
