Hey Bruce, that sounds good. I'll txt you later tonight to see when.

Bunta, thanks for the heads up. Checked too late and already tied up for the day.

Sean

WHAT? No Vee's on your current bike? I thought you'd never switch back to Maggies

I am new to trials, but would like to meet some of you guys and get some schooling. Have a stock to learn on and recently moved to Rosslyn, so if you ride anywhere in the DC area, ill be glad to meet up. Also im down for motorcycle rides, don't require any instructions in that department. PM for cell number.

^to answer the original question in the thread, I did some putting around Gateway park this evening and no sight of cops at all. Although the place has been overrun with bums recently and they have a designated PO in there every once in a while keping things quiet.

^^ i may be down depending on time and the weather (chance of rain). It is stupid hot, but towards the evening it is manageable.

Hey everyone, I know I'm resurrecting a bit of an old thread, but I just moved back to the DC area after living in San Diego for 5+ years. I'm living in Rockville and it's nice to see that there are riders in the area. San Diego was nice since I could ride all year long, but now I need to get in as much riding as possible before winter comes around.

Anyway, it's been a while since I've ridden group rides and I'm getting tired of the occasional neighborhood after work run on my own. Gilman, I'm sending you a PM so that you can hopefully add me to the text message list of riders. ACR and sbvr4, I'm excited to see local riders! I'm sending you guys a PM as well with my cell phone number. I would like to ride this weekend if the rain isn't a factor. I've been looking forward to riding Bethesda or downtown Rockville, so maybe you guys could show me some good spots.

Big thanks to Bunta, who hooked me up with a whole new setup after i broke my frame, so I can ride again. New bike feels a whole lot stiffer and more stable. Matt, put me back on the invite list plz!

You were never off the list.

I have been busy these past few weeks so I haven't been sure of ride times until the night before. This next weekend doesn't look good either.

Glad that you got a new bike.

Good deal, Matt. October weekends seem to be pretty booked for me as well, but after that I'm wide open.
Does anyone know of a pair of cam (snail) tensioners for a 10mm axle for sale locally? If not, I will order some from the internets. Does Trials Pads not sell any, or am I just not seeing them?

Not sure about anyone having them local.

As for Trials Pads I would email Aki and ask him if he has any. If he doesn't he probably can get them quickly for you. He is awesome to deal with and responds very quickly.

Yeah October is super busy for me as well so i will let you know once I am free. You can also text or call any time you want to ride and I can let you know what is going on.

+1 for Aki. He's outstanding to work with, and he uses smileys in his emails. : )

Anyone in the alexandria area interested in riding somewhere local on weeknights?
I'm no good but am looking to get better. Interested in getting in on one of these weekend rides at some point as well.

I ride in Rosslyn's Gatweway Park on weeknights, it has some good beginner-friendly features. I would not mind coming out to Alexandria for a ride and checking out some riding spots there.

Snapped my chain for the second time yesterday, I think it's time to upgrade to something beefier. Maybe the old half-link chain off my DJ will do better.

On the positive side, my pogo stick skills are getting much better. I found that dropping the rear tire pressure to levels unsafe for any other type of riding helps with the stability, and adding a small hop at the end of the initial stroke helps with starting the rhythm.

Here are some screenshots from last week. I was playing around with some color correction to choose the right one for the video, so that why they all look a bit different. I think in general trials look more impressive when shown in motion
