Well, I've bought my tickets so it's on now. Looking forward to meeting a few of you and getting some riding in.
It would be cool if one of you guys could show me some spots around town

Can't say its the same for summer, but I hear for the folks that live there during ski season to work/ski they end up living pretty crap and sleeping in glorified closets. Ah, but what folks will do for the love of a sport.

If you can get a job in a hotel as the night caretaker or something, you just have to answer calls from the guests but if knowbody calls your just getting paid to sleep

Otherwise I'd go for bar or restaurant work, everyone has to tip so your hourly rate gets topped up nicely. Maybe construction?

Wrenching would pay $15hr to start. If you have any tickets you could be around $35hr.

Haha, lots??

The plan is to send my tools home and not work stupid hours like I have here in Manchester. I want to ride and explore stupid hours this time round
Powerplants are ok, but I prefer skin/metal work. More interesting and varied IMO.

You would be around $45hr to $65hr easily if you contracted out. Just find some company that doesn't care that the tickits are not Canadian.

Unfortunately my qualifications are Airforce quals, so while I am highly sought after, I'm not really worth much

I want to wrench bikes over a/c though. I'd like to be around people a little more. Plus a/c are pretty damn disgusting.....

Well your shit out of luck! We don't have any real military planes let alone an army.

I've spent the last year working on Airbus and Boeing a/c. Aircraft are all pretty similar, especially the way the fuselage/structure is built (not including the new breed eg: 777, A380 etc). Small a/c are even easier to work on as they have less systems to fix.
There is definately some work about, but I don't fancy contracting again as you tend to work too much cos you don't when the contract will end!!

We have the worst type of planes you can think of (second to Eithiopian airlines ). You won't have a problem finding a job here, many companies will respect you because of your qualification just not the government.

Can I get a benefit and just sit at home and smoke weed? That would suit my potential lifestyle better....
