in dv, a full fame of 1/25s (or 1/30s on NTSC) consists of two "halfpics", one with the odd lines and one with even. You have to tell your video app how to interpret the footage (odd first or even first, pixel aspect and so on), you normally do this in your library of clips/footage. The problem is some players show a "clean" still fullframe while processing halfpics, and on playout its a mess again :-(

In your vid, it seems one full frame (halfpics only for tv) consists of the last halfpic of the last frame and the first of the current frame, so if theres big motion, you get interlaced.

I had a similar problem...tried about 12 times and always got to 77mb and quit. I downloaded one of those download managers so I could get this and it's sorted. I suggest you do the same. If you're on a PC, perhaps try "Internet Download Manager", it worked for me.

hopeman- i think my interlacing problems come from the compression of the video. if i do a full dv quality copy- no problems. the more i compress it though the worse that crap gets. i havent noticed it much lately because everything recently has been shot in frame on my new camera. the older footage off my old camera did shoot 60 half frames and i think thats why the interlacing is so apparent on some of the shots. oh well.

vince did bail, he didnt take any catastrophic falls... some of this footage of the cous brothers- look at what they are doing- that is some hard shit. they were out there pushing themselves. you usually fall when you are really being pushed. i dont see them falling as anything negative because to tell you the truth it means they got to where they are through hard work- they werent just born trials gods.

the top guys are all amazing and who ends up on top just depends on who has the ride of their year on comp day. caisso, vincent, kenny, cous brothers- they are all capable of winning. they are all also capable of having bad days. when the cous brothers are in top form i think they are pretty much the best. however- just one mistake combined with another rider having an awesome day and the cous brothers will not be on top of the podium. its that crazy at that level of competition.

I really don't know what to tell the people who's downloads aren't completing, all of the settings on the server end appear to be fine, I would recommend a download resumer/accelerator. I use reget (http://www.reget.com) deluxe, but it isn't free. In the past I used flashget (http://www.amazesoft.com/) (which was free, not sure if it still is), both work well, but reget deluxe = :bowdown:.

I just DL'd it from Trialshack.....it's like the whole thing DLs, but it stops at 75%...you can watch the little progress bar get to like 70% then the video is over, as if like there IS more info, but it just doesn't play.....I re DLd it and it's definitly worth the DL even if you have a SLOW dialup connection....amazing video.....

Yes, they are a thing of beauty :). Instead of just opening one connection to the server, they open multiple. This way if you have a bad route to the server or something in the middle limiting speed, each of those connections to the server can hit that limit. Even from bad servers I get good speeds using reget, and you can just right click on the link and choose "Download by Reget Deluxe". I don't even notice the program running either, it was programmed by a good team, cause it takes no processor/RAM :)
