edit- i want to know how that nazi ass judge (and trust me he was a picky mother effer) let rafal go on his toes being all over the pipe pyramid and then calls him on a 5 for that sidehop to dab.... wtf. thats so funny, in the grazy wc he calls vince for his heel barely touching, at worlds he calls gilles for axle crossing and gave him the only 5 points for the entire finals at les gets. that judge is a touchy bastard when it comes to the rules. i guess thats a good thing?

giacomo this year went into worlds fresh off an injured shoulder (he did it right before the french nationals i hear). he also cought a couple of unlucky breaks. so according to the internet hes washed up... pffft yeah right. (speaking of yeah right- eric koston gets beat at the x-games but giacomo cant have an off day?)

I think harsh judges are a good thing. I hate watching an observer see someone do what they know is a dab / five however let it pass because the rider tries to get away with it. At the same time I hate pulling up borderline dabs / fives so I can see why they don’t do it. Watching the video closely I think the 5 for sitting was correct. The toe on the pile of pipes should have perhaps been even a five, if the rules are taken 100%. However if I was observing I wouldn’t have noticed it I don’t think. From what I have seen of him he is a good observer and gets himself into positions where he can easily see the riders feet etc etc. I think it’s much easier for a non rider observer to be a prick. I haven’t seen a dab / five he has given that hasn’t been, according to the rule book, what he gave it as, however I have seen a couple of instances, like you pointed out, where he has not pulled up what should be a dab. This was supposed to be a short post, got a bit long. It’s easy for us to criticize with a video we can watch over and over / in slomo. Anyway I was amazed at some of those strato's. Like it or not they are defiantly a part of trials at the top level.

indeed. i agree. i understand that it is easy for us to watch a video and see things but for him to call what he does sometimes and then let other stuff by is strange to me. if his gaurd is so sharp he should be catching things like a riders foot crossing the axis of the frame (5) and toes rubbing all over something right in front of his face. if you are going to be a prick of a judge then you had better be a prick of a judge ALL the time. i agree with him on the sitting down call but for him to miss 4 or 5 other calls is strange to me. whatever. i agree though that it would be better to have harsh judges so that riders dont start to think they can get away with any shifty crap.

On another note, after watching again, benito, on the monty stock, looks heaps better then he does on the koxx xtp stock in the videos i have seen. He actualy looks like he belongs on the monty.

Caisso on the XTP looks strange. must be an XTP long cuz he looks like a 7 yr old on a very long bike, he is super cool and rides it superb tho

it was a long xtp that caisso was on. he looked weird... sort of how i look on my bike! but he rode it awesome. speaking of looking weird- vinco on the woodman with the low bb.... wow the promodel frame is the exact opposite it seems. that first slap you see giacomo do was easy pie for him. anyone who ripped the paradise found dc off the stupid internet knows he slaps a bigger rock with a smaller landing even smoother... which is kinda scary.

funny that carls diaz (i think) and the other spanish monty rider that wasn't benito looked better than benito...the spanish still rule the 20 i think...

fuckin first rider in the mod video on the koxx needs to stop being such a wang. STOP TAKING STRATOS. he looked pretty good on the stock though.

Caisso upping the tire on a 1080 bike?? damn. Giacomos first tap up the rock. actually giacomo looked a lot more impressive in this vid than the vids from this year

giacomo was on fire on every section, riding amazingly, great stuff. caisso blew my mind, i'd seen that footage before on paradise found, but seeing the stuff from different angles was great. 2nd to giacomo by 1 dab, amazing. benito's spanish swearing was cool, and giacomo's french haha. kenny and vinco are powerhouses, mad strong, but have great style and don't ride like ogres. there was even a few seconds of jeremy van. awesome videos.

ive spoted just about the entire us team... in street clothes bwahahahaa.

and yes rafal needs to quit stratodabbing his way through impossibly hard sections.... pfft yeah right. everyone dabbed stuff. the only two people i didnt see strato some insane stuff there were marco and benito. i dont see anyone else riding at their level on mod in uci events.
