It's supposed to be..........it ads a kind of dramatic look, which I like.

uhm .. theres lots of space on the right side , this is useally good if it has a meaning but here it doesnt seem to have any meaning to it .. should have tilted the cam and got closer ..

black and white is often good, but they guy blends in to the other dark colours behind him, you can try and use colours on him and not anything else, then your eyes will focus more easily on him ..

just some thoughts ..

Well I'll add my pedal-up pic to yours! It's one of the best I have. Yes it's my not-so-trialsy-but-quite-okay-riding bike.

I did actually know why it was black and white, but retorically, why is it black and white, I think the picture is a bit plain, nothing special at all, it seems people just put black and white photos to anything.

Have fun tho.

Actually I'd say B&W is used to give the atmosphere a bigger role in the picture. It does not create the atmosphere. The pic needs a strong contrast and a really strong perspective in it to create the action and the atmosphere needed. Well that's my opinion. See.

i like b+w because it forces you to have a good understanding of light. also, you need to rely on a good subject to give you a good picture.

rob k.'s picture is like a c+. its an average picture, artistically. i like the color of the picture; its warm, especially on the right, but has a bit boldness coming from the electric box, roof, and door. that is the problem though. you get lost looking at the picture. if the right was justt sky, or just tarmac, than i think you would have to focus on the rider more which im sure is rob k.'s original intent. also, the camera is tilted down, not a big deal, but it's noticeable.

color wise though, i think its good. you just lose sight of the subject.

not bad rob.

Could you take about the same thing but sitting in front of the door I see on the building? With the right zoom the pic would be killer.
