View Full Version : koxx forks
whats the internet opinion. ?
and what avid mechanical/adapter combo have y'all run with this 190mm fork? i have it from a reliable resource that a rear 203mm mounted upside down will work with a 203mm rotor. just wondering what else anybody has tried.
Why not try the new Hope/Tryall Brake on it? That brake looks pretty damn wak!

I had the same issue you are having..
Avid mechanical brake
8" rotor adapter
6"rotor
a few spacers to make up the difference.
or What I have:
Hayes mech brake
6" avid adapter
8" hayes rotor
a few spacers to make the difference..

elan dont you know the interwob sucks for opinions?
Having said that, heres my opinion of the koxx fork. Its overpriced, but someone hooked me up with one so I cant complain. Aside from that, Ive had it for a year and a half so far and no problems. Its starting to creak a bit, so I'm guessing its on its last legs, but I do a lot of taps and I'm a fat shit(185 pnds) so I didnt expect it to last forever.
I had the brisa fork before it and didnt like that one either. I was scared something was gonna happen the whole time and eventually just sold it. Also I like the fact that this fork actually has some rake to it. The wheelbase lengthens up a nice bit going from the brisa to the koxx.
I really do not like the offset disc mount. My avid mech is rigged up so ghetto its ridiculous. I have a 205 rotor, the avid 185 adapter and no adjuster spacers between the caliper and adapter. I get the full contact patch between discs and pads but I cant adjust it for shit and it rubs constantly. I may have to try that flipping it around thing though.
The fork itself is pretty good, its not super stiff, but its not a flexy bitch either. I would say if you could get it for the same price as an echo fork, get the koxx instead, or better yet wait for the newer version that vincent has if it ever comes out.. That or use the proceeds from the sale of your koxx as a downpayment for a loan so you can get the ridiculous fournales fork.
i already ordered it and thats what i want ot use so opinion on the fork isnt needed but thanks anywho. i got an awesome deal on it so if i cant use it i could probably turn a profit on it still. i just was wondering options for brake set up.
oh yea. the try-all fork is sick tits. ugly as shit (no as much as the urban) THUPPPPPERRR stiff and THUPPPPPERRRR light. seems pretty strong too.
