the armchair consensus is that while 24" wheels on a trials bike sound good in theory, the lack of decent tyre and rim choices as well as problems with competition classes keep us firmly and comfortably riding 26". A recent Gary Fisher promotion for 29" mtb's depicted a rider using the superior rolling abilities of 29" wheels to ride up the front of a motor vehicle of some sort. A very trials-like activity. Perhaps we should be going the other way?

how much weaker in % is a 29" wheel to a 26"? i think 26" is the sweet spot. 24" is interesting, and i would like to see further sophistication of its designs, but i dont think that id ever ride one. who can tell. i personally think 29" would be way too huge.

No more rule problems! I agree with the tire issue though. Great tires make a huge difference if you're riding natural or in the wet. If it's just got urban, that's different.
