Has anyone used them before? how does it feel? Is it a fixed hub or a freehub? And are they available?

these enjoyed a brief moment in the sun when they were released, it's a freehub. After all the engineers came out of the woodwork and told us it was crap, we moved onto other things and they went back into the woodwork until the coustellier st blaise frame was released.

i just thought they petered away into oblivion because they never shipped any to be sold? im probably wrong but i wouldnt mind figuring out where they went- it was a good effort to change the hub area of trials.
I know Yasec quite good, because he lives 3 mins away from me! :-)
My friend have a Yasec bike with the prototype hub: 63 egaigment points, light weight ( about 420 g. inc. 6 speed cassette) It feels good!
When you have any questions i can ask from Yasec!

i have a question- why straight pull spokes? its a pain to get ahold of them.
This hub doesn't work perfect! It's handmade and it feels good, but there are some problems with that... The Hungarian champion, Örs Szabó was using it for about 2 months, but than he was fed up with having problems all the time...
Hi!
I have the other version of the hub which is for normal spokes. This is a very good hub, but there are some minor problems with it, which will be eliminated.
It's "little" dirty, but i don't have a better photo of it.

i found it was more of a pain to get around to getting ahold of them. once i ordered mine it took about 3 days for them to get in, and as long as you work out the spoke length properly you should be fine.

yeah, you can special order them but no shop stocks them... unless they love to sit on relatively worthless inventory for years on end.

with that attitude kevin, you'll be quitting trials because your bike doesnt come with a remote.

What is the difference between straight pull spokes and the normal ones? I don't see any..

normal spokes have an elbow at the end, and are threaded through a flange before turning an abrupt 90 degrees and shooting off to the rim.
Straight pull spokes have no elbow, and there is a different type of hub flange as you see above. The spokes are straight, and they pull straight ...through a hole lined up with the direction of the spoke.

Would you order $40 in spokes for a hub that no one has any experience with?
shit never mind, I just read your earlier post, I guess you would order $40 in spokes for an untried hub.

hope that was money well spent.

*ahem*
Simon ordered spokes for an RB hub, not a Yasec hub. People tried the RB. It is still going good.

What the fuck? If you have bought a hub you will need spokes anyway. How does the fact that you have to order them change anything?

my point was... well nevermind, i quit because i have no remote...
Can you see the picture in #8 ?? My hub is made for normal spokes. This is the only difference. This hub is 1 year and 7 month old, and its the second one which made for normal spokes.

Not many shops bother to stock straight pull spokes. But as my earlier post said it is not difficult to order them in. Its not like its extreme to ever order parts in for trials, how are spokes any different?
I dont know about where you are, but here my spokes came out to be about 1.5 times the price of normal spokes, but I got my hub for half price from the trialsin shop.
As for straight pull spokes, the DT site says something about the flange-head contact being stiffer than a flange-elbow contact as well as it being easier to replace a spoke without taking the wheel appart. I'm not sure if its any stiffer; I havnt noticed any difference, but it looks cool, and I built it myself and only have to do some minor truing every few months.
I dont know what makes you think i'm an ass, maybe you missunderstood my posts.

I had got one about a year and a few months ago. I loved how it felt. It was very solid and never skipped. The hub had 63 engagement points w/ 3 large paws and strong springs. I loved it, I used it for about 4 months then one day the cluster of gears broke. It is a 6 speed freehub w/ 3 steel gears made out of one block of steel then 2 alum. gears to save weight and then one more steel gear. The break happened on the 3 steel gear cluster that has a 20t, 18t, 16t. It cracked all the way around between the 18t and the 16t so now it just spins. I always used it in the 18t
I tried to get a replacement 6 speed gear cluster and finaly gave up after about 4 months.
crtd or anybody if you know how I could get this replaced please let me know. Here are some pictures, you can see the crack if you look closely.

that was one of the things that turned me off those hubs, surely mounting some sort of a shimano-compatible spline in a 6 speed width would make more sense.
