What do you prefer? Which offers better stopping power for trials?
Cintered Pads, or Organic Pads
If you have any articles or websites to look at, please pass them on.
Thanks,
TA
organic pads are absolutely horrible?
what brake do you have? if you have an avid, stick wit hthe stock pads. they are like frosted flakes.
if you have some hydro crap, get EBC red pads.

I think most disk brakes do that?...Mine do at least.

A lot of disc brake systems do create noise. There can be many different factors, such as, different riding conditions, contamination to the pads or rotors, and it has also been noted that light weight brake systems can create squeaking sounds....due to vibration.
I was doing some research and talking to disc pad companies, but it looks like the "Cintered" pads (with metal specs in them) have better gripping power and more friction. They can create more heat, which can be bad, but for trials I think they would work better.
Anyone that still has feedback on what they have tried would be greatly appreciated.

My Avid doesn't...it takes few rides to break them in but after that it stops right on dime...love it.

When I was first breaking my avid in, it made mad squacking noises... But now it just squeals. Not that I care, It's got incredible power. For 100$ I'm damn impressed.
Here's a story, one time when I was practicing nose manuals down this hill...It was covered in goose shit. And after a few tries, I got some shit on my rotor...
When I did one after noticing a little hunk of crap on the disk, it was so incredibly loud. It hurt to listen too, I had to clean it off because it was...pretty high pitched, ears were ringing after that one.
Shit makes things squeal I guess?

Stock Avid pads work pretty well.. they always slipped at the limit a bit for me when hanging off things. EBC Reds work badass... they don't like water much though. EBC Golds are on my Avid now.. we'll see how they do..

The Golds take a whole lot longer to breakin but, I feel, work easily as well as the Reds but last much, much longer.
