The Louise is better than the Julie. It's much more powerful.
Julies are crap!

Ive run a julie for the last year without a problem, the only thing thats sucks about it is the lever.

Julie's are better for XC (lite-racing and heavy commuting)
Louise are more rounded out for all sorts of stuff.

Go Louise. Spend the few extra bucks. Better power, more adjustabiltiy. :bigthumb:

^^Your friend must be a tard and not bolt on the disc to the hub, cause there is no way in hell a Julie stops better than a Louise FR.....

the Julie levers are cheap plastic and bust pretty quick.. plus they don't hold very well at all.. but they do sorta feel better than the louise levers.. but thats just me..

I'd go against magura disc's unless you go with the marta perhaps? (never tried it to be honest so I can't speak on that)
