try pushing yourself in areas that your not good at. if you work at only the stuff that you can do, youll never learn the stuff you cant do. in other words, if you can pivot well and balance, dont focus on those, but instead focus on stuff you cant do until you bring them up to the same level as your good skills. try hopping forward and up higher things than curbs. try sidehopping up curbs, try pivoting up stuff like curbs and benches (if curbs are too easy). and of course, the only way you will learn backhopping to so practice it till your sick of it! everyone learns at their own rate, but for everyone, the key to getting good is practicing what your not good at!

practice. If you can pedal kick, you should be able to backhop. I feel that learning to pedal kick is the one single thing that helped me learn to hop on the rear wheel.

dont expect too much after only two months of riding. thers a reason trials doesnt have a bajillion participants. it takes a rare combination of determination and doucheyness to ever succeed at trials riding.

there are points where everyone wants to quit because they feel like they arent progressing. but you gotta just tell yourself to keep going. keep trying new things, or dialing one move in. and sometimes you just have to take a three week break from the whole thing and just talk shit on the intrawebs.

take the above advice, and jsut keep trying. after only riding 3 months i felt the same way and couldnt do shit, but if you push yourself saying you want to achive ____ and ____, you will get there with practice, just need some motivation i guess, watch videos? that helped me

also go out of your way to find some trials riders in your area to ride with, it really does help. Watch videos, even basic ones such as the ones on www.trials-online.com, over and over again and try to copy what they do.

Everyone progresses at a different rate.

If you ride, you will get better.
Try to ride with other people too, it helps a great deal.

dont worry, i suck too... but i keep going, cuz at that point when i can easily do a jap slap up onto a van or gap to picnic tables, it'll all be worth it. and after 2 months... you have barrels of time to keep on trying. if we all got to being "good" in just 2 months who would wanna see elites like vinco or caisso or leech or bentham -- it takes lots of time and patience

Where do you live? Like someone said, find other riders in your area. Most trials riders are genuinely nice guys who know what it's like to want to do something so badly that you won't stop at anything for it. Of course, some people are better at explaining and telling you how to improve than others, so if you can find them, it's very very helpful.

yea, i agree, it takes time, i had like 12 years on a bike b4 i even got into freeride, then 2 seasons of that, 2 really hard seasons of urban, riding near daily, and about 6 or 7 months of trials now.....and i still dont consider myself anything great, the guys i ride w/ keep telling me how good i am, but IMO leech is good, and i aint leech
