Before I plunk down a bunch of money on a new bike, I'd like to test ride a few. Are there some bike shops in the NE area that have trials bikes in stock ? I live near Albany, NY and none of the local shops keep them in stock. Trialsin is probably a six hour drive. I could get to either the Boston area on NYC in about three hours, which is more reasonable for me. Thanks

Hey Steve,
Are you new to trials ?
You won't find a shop on the NE that carry trials bikes in stock. People never know what I am doing when I am on the streets training. They just watch and wows. Even shops are curious what the heck I am riding. It's just simply not a national sport :)
I live in NYC, you are welcome to test out my Brisa 26D, ZOO Pitbull, Magellan Tucana and a Mod Monty xlite if you are interested. But if you never did trials before it won't really help you. The Brisa was my first trials bike (I simply ordered it from them.. yeah it was a lot of money but I wanted to get into trials), so anyway, at my first ride the Brisa felt strange like hell. I was into BMX before, but trials bikes... sooooooooooo different geometry, different handlebar, everything is different.. I couldn't even do a small bunny-hop with it. But now, 2 years later .... trials sport is the best, and as for bikes.. the skill that matters not the bike. Now I ride the ZOO (eventually I am going to change it to Coustellier, but it's kinda the same, and a feel better to wreck this and not a Cust.), it feels better for bigger moves. But the Brisa... hmmm it feels very pleasent.. My girlfriend is riding that one. It's easier to hop and pedalkick with it, but after you learned it, the ZOO feels more like a competition bike.
Enough talk, if you are interested, drop me a line.

Hey, I just saw your reply. I am new to trials, used to race BMX and I do more technical XC right now. I actually picked up a used Echo not too long ago and I'm building it up right now. I might check out Iron Maiden next month at Hammerstein. I'll send you a PM if I'm in the city. Thanks.
