im not sure about the exact geometry but i know that the bb is 10mm above zero, 390mm chainstays which feel amazing and a 1065mm wheel base, it rides amazing, before i had this i had the pure 1060 and this is 100 times better for everything, balance, taps, natural, it's just nuts.

The specs are pretty much all tryall with a 190mm louise front disk which feels really good compared to the other disk brakes i've tryed...

Rode one of those last week. All I know is that it feels amazing. If I had one like that it would have my bed and I would sleep on the floor.

NICE!!How heavy is it?Is it supposed to be competition light?

oicdn
09-19-2004, 06:23 AM
Aren't those the same dimensions as his radical? Well, the wheelbase is like 10mm longer, but otherwise it's the same geo...bvut that 10mm I guess changes everything huh?

JK
09-19-2004, 08:07 AM
Way different from the radical. BB rise 1cm and 2.5cm longer wheelbase, way slacker head tube 71 versus 74. The frame alone is very light. The bike I tried it with had a 120mm 25 degree stem. The bike felt perfect to me with this setup (I'm 190cm tall)

Are they not the exact same geometry and angles as the regular levelboss 1065? Wheelbase, chainstays and head angle were I thought.

Hmmmmm I guessing you haven't tried 375mm chainstays  390mm is huge by most standards...I'm not dissing your ride dood but aren't the brisa b26/d chainstays 390, and that is wank on the backwheel. I'm sure it probably rides nice though, looks sex...

AgrAde
09-19-2004, 05:12 PM
chainstay length isn't the only thing that matters on the rear wheel. i rode a 1060 pure with a 120x5 stem and it was incredible on the rear wheel. my 1080 pure with a 90x5 stem feels gay on the rear. i don't know what it is....

but i could ride them equally well :yum:

that bike kicks ass, i want it

Cryo-Cube
09-19-2004, 05:26 PM
yeah and most bikes have ~385mm chainstays, those 5mm wont magically turn the frame into a piece of shit, just like 5mm difference in wheelbase wouldn´t.

felix

The Caisso feels great on the backwheel, though the chainstays are sooooo long compared to other frames.
Some people should perhaps ride a frame first before they judge how it feels only by seing geometry datas.

As far as I know none of my Megamos (Expert, Radical and Equip) had a 74 head angle...
Expert and Radical had a 13.25" bb height, Equip 14.25"
1045 wheelbase with 15.5 stays.

Caisso is 1065 wheelbase with 15.35" stays.

As its been said before, wheelbase and chainstays are not the only things that determine how the bike rides...

The Caisso rides completely different than a Megamo
Marc Caisso just seems to know how a bike should ride!

i rode his bike in les gets. no doubt a good bike, but feels way shorter than my coust. but i'm much taller than kurt. its amazing how different 20 mm can feel on a bike.

maxxistrials
09-20-2004, 05:47 PM
exactly, this bike is made for people who arent like 8 feet tall...more like people who are 5' 4" like me, or Marc Caisso and that is exactly what all the demensions are designed for, the longer chainstays, which arent all the much longer, allow you to use your bike more then your power and long legs to make long gaps, my gaps have increased maybe a foot with this bike, and the slacked head angle makes taps just nuts...

I dunno, its kinda depressing when you have to tilt your head 90° to kiss a girl. Being tall isnt that good.

The feeling on back wheel depends of stems angel&length and bar rise mostly then of chainstay! so 390 is ok.

No actually the chainstay length is one of the biggest factors affecting back wheel balance or the ease of staying on the back wheel. And now a days 390 is on the longer side especially when comparing it to a Bt 5.0 which is 375.

MegamoMidwest
09-28-2004, 08:07 PM
yeah but compared with bb height.....and you know what I am not even going to bother because this has gone in so many circles.
