Must have hurt like hell to break a pedal with your shin, ouch.

How did you shave your shin with skin flaps everywhere?

Thats probably the 24th pair of those pieces of shit to break in this town.

hahahaha, i went through so many zuzus on my shins. it just got to be a hassel for sun to keep warrantying them so they gave me the octanes instead. i then quit riding them and moves to the bomb ass welgos and havent looked back. well done though ty, thats a good amount of the cage broken out. i still havent seen anyone else break through two of bridges on one shin in one wreck though...?

You are already on a trials bike, no need to look extraordinarily gay.

I have broken ZuZu like that before. (not on my shin though). Each time they would last me like 3~5months.

who hasnt broken a pair of zu zus? Pfunder had the shittiest looking pair ever back in the day, I trust he has changed em now, but I remember when riding in his home town on of the bodies fell of the spindle for christ's sake. Boy oh Boy was it comical!

as much as people rag on the zuzu's the azonic pedals suck it harder.

So how much do these "magic" welgos cost? Nice blood shot.

AndyT
09-17-2004, 12:39 AM
I never broke the azonics :hs:

However the wellgos haven't lost a pin yet, super strong and rage with my new balances :naughty:

RomanC

I used azonic magnesium alloy pedals. The pins would get knocked out from them as if the pedal body was made from bread...

it was a litte surge to rear and my foot came off...

I rather continiue riding after a masive pedal slip with shineguards on then looking suave pushing my bike home with bloody hideouse shines after a pedal slip.

AndyT

If you stop riding because you put a hole in your shin, you are a pussy. I hit my shin maybe ~once a year, and its a big one every time. Once those endorphins kick in, who gives a shit.

shin pads are so uncomfortable.... granted, for the 10 mintes after a shin hit, you wish to hell you wore them, it still doesnt make up for the fact that the oter 95% of the time they are just plain annoying.

plus the senioritas think my shins look gnar-core.

wow some tough motherfuckers on this board, strangly though, if you´re all so tough why are the reasons you dont wear them so so gay like: "they are uncomfortable" or "they dont look good"?
Seriously i dont get tle logic here, its uncomfortable to wear shineguards but its fine to cut your shines wide open? I see it the other way around, cutting your shines unnecessarily IS uncomfortable.

I don't think shinguard are uncomfortable or look gay. I just don't like putting them on and taking them off. I just want to get on my bike and ride. I haven't hit my shins in as long as I can remember, so it seems pointless to me. When ski season starts nearing I may be seen with shin guards on... can't damage those precious shins, gotta drive my skis through the bumps. Yes, I am so fucking excited about ski season this year!

Lets see, putting on a dumb looking black velcro piece of shit on your legs 300 days a year....sweating your ass off in them, smelling horrible etc... all to have them maybe save you once in a year? Not worth it.

Maybe if you are a beginner/sport rider and you actually hit your shins often you could use them, as I did in that stage.

i had three bad ones in one ride, all on top of each other. that sucked. when i have shinpads to wear then i put one on my chocolate foot shin. bit i don't have shinpads and i hardly ever hit my shin that much anymore. my VPs are shitty and non grippy, i'm surprised i don't hit them more.

Thats why you wear shinguards.

I'm a newbie and I (usually) wear shinpads all the time. I don't think it'll ever come to a point when I stop wearing them. I forget they're there to be honest.

Yesterday I went out for a ride with a friend. We get to the park, take the bikes off the rack, and do the whole immediate pedal around a bit before putting anything on.

Not even two minutes after I get on I do this on some half-hearted gay pivot on a curb:

http://igophoto.net/dave/images/_IMG_2672.JPG

More of a scrap than a slam, so it was just kinda deep and nasty looking (mostly the bottom one). Of course I've got no bandages and I can't be bothered to leave. So I improvise:

http://igophoto.net/dave/images/_IMG_2675.JPG

Ah Dunkin Donuts: excellent coffee, absorbant napkins. Didn't wanna put open wounds against the funk that is the inside of my shin guards.

Four hours later, after we're done riding and I've peeled the napkin from the leg, the shin looks like this:

http://igophoto.net/dave/images/_IMG_2725.JPG

Gotta dig those post-ride bloody socks.

EDIT: I wear the guards because I suck and I can't afford any reason to hesitate and not commit to my (albeit small at this time) moves.

Christ in a dump truck. Happy little dancing albino dude is right...

Nothing like feeling the wind change direction with your exposed shin flesh, hunh?

BTW, I know my recent shinning is nothing, just thought you guys would appreciate the Dunkin Blotting Technique.
