As most of you know this year is the first in recent memory without an EFTA Trials Series. The reason for our departure from EFTA is because partly due to the age of the Series. Many of the event venues had been used up years ago, but in an effort to please the promoters of those XC races we continued to go every year. Well this year is different, we are striking out on our own and we can go to any venue we want. What does that mean for you? Events with much better terrain, period.

As of right now there is no name for the events listed below, they are not connected to EFTA or any other organization. So if you have a snappy name, send me an email and let me know what it is.

August 8 - Lincoln Woods Park, Lincoln, RI
August 29 - Clifford Park, Biddeford, ME
October 10 - Hammonasset State Park, Madison, CT updated!

All of these events have great terrain, ranging from classic woods trials for the RI and ME events, to 100% boulder riding similar to Gloucester. Sections in Hammonasett will be literally less than 50 feet from the ocean! You probably have friends who have dropped off the competition scene in the last few years, well this is the year to call them up and tell them to come on out. This year's terrain is some of the best around. If terrain isn't your bag, then come on out to see one of the top pro's in the US, Mike Steidley. Don't forget about Tim Finn, he's beaten Mike at the National level before. Both of these guys are amazing to watch so you had better have a real good excuse to skip events this year. See you at the events!

Directions, start times, and registration information will be coming soon on www.petewilk.com (http://www.petewilk.com/)

Ohh DAMN, Mike the "Italian Scallion" made a spelling error!! You be slippin' dude, you be slippin'!
Oh, and the powers that be just informed me that "Clam diggers" are OK, but no Capri's, Prada or otherwise. You might even be able to slip in a pair of knickers if you try REALLY hard. Oh, and Dan, still thinking about giving up Trials? I remember reading that in one of your posts a month or so back, don't do it man, it'll Haunt you. Just try to add some variety to your rides, like learn stuff opposite or something, but just don't give it up. I'm looking forward to next years Raccoon Rally already, and it would be nice to see a few familiar faces.

bwanger-who are you? Based on what you said I assume we have met and I probably would remember you by seeing you, or hearing your name, I just dont recognize that name... I dont think I will ever all the way give up trials, I enjoy getting out on my trials bike once or twice every 2 weeks or so....Its sporadic and based mostly on if I have good terrain around me.

Dan,
You probably shouldn't remember me. We've only met once, at Thunder Rocks while I was setting up the sections for the Rally this year, you came up and asked if we needed any help. You said you'd be available to help in the morning, and you actually came back in the morning, but we had it all worked out already. I just respect the fact that you offerred to help with the set-up, and that you actually stayed true to your word.

Bruce,

I remember asking you about help both times, but there were 3 unfamillar faces that were there both times and I am unsure which of them was you. But anyway the Rally was a great event, I hope to go again next year (and ride sport class on my street bike...)
