Hey Sam

I dont have a coust in order but i have some forks in that order.
I spoke to Dan a few weeks ago and he says that the order is in customs in Sydney and is waiting to be cleared but there is a really long wait on customs in sydney. There is one rider down here I know of that is getting a coust too and he is good mates with Dan and also says that Dan said to him that they are in customs.
Just gotta hope this is true and it wont be too much longer because I ordered my forks last year!

Cheers mate!
yeh, Dan said that they were in customs a while ago and that they would be out the day after, but that never hapened, so i didnt know if i should beleive it or not, like if he was just saying they are in customs to get me off this back. Spose its true, with higher security and stuff, it could take a while.

The Coustillier brothers are drug lords and they are shipping the frames over with cocaine in the down tube, thats my theory

KyleT

That's why they are taking so long to get through customs

customs clear the goods the day you fill out the customs release form and pay them. They were really really quick when we got the bt's through.

So, are you saying that Dan is ether lying about them being in customs or not paying customs the tax or whatever? Do you think if i rang up customs they would tell me if they are holding them or not?

I dont think it is the Coust brothers that are the drug lords.

All I have heard about Dan (and this is all hearsay and probably quite slanderous but meh) is that he is unreliable. He may just not be able to say "its gonna take ages, so you'll have to wait".

We will see I spose.

when i got my echo from him it was only about 1 month late. i wouldn't trust that guy again coz i have heard some bad shit, but who knows if it's true?
apparently he still hasn't paid for the echo shipment.

i know there is a guy in perth who has been waiting 4 months or somthing, not sure if he has his bike yet. He seems to get them in eventualy but i personaly wont be "preordering" from him agian, whether it was his or echos fault he had my money for a long time, and i didnt have a bike, and if he didnt pay for the echo order anyway, what did he need the preorder money for?

Who knows if it's true? I can just imagine a bunch of SWAT storming his house and finding all this white powder spilling out of the down tubes of all these Coust. frames.........

Dan just said that he's got the stickers today and is expecting the frames to follow soon, who knows how soon soon is, but i guess it shouldnt be too long now?

wow he has stickers! you guys could ride them for a little while.
i shouldn't really say not to buy products from him, but don't preorder parts.
at least Dan is helping to get trials parts to Australia.

I think we know the answer to that, don't we? Or at least a good guess.

Best bet is to call him and tell him you've spoken to customs etc, and would like a truthful explanation for this. If he cant give you one, ask for your money back and get a bike from someone reliable.

mmm seems everyone is doing the same thing... just on a different forum. And as i dont have the internet (i spend my time working... not sitting on computers slandering others) i havent been aware of my ongoing attacks!

Well let me say this... AGAIN!!!

i have phoned ( do u wanna see my fone records!!) France 4-5 times now asking about the whereabouts of the cousts. Each time i was told they were sent and must be delay in australia. So when i contacted customs they explained they were working throught the stuff and i would have to wait a while. FAST FORWARD to last week. A bunch of stickers (coustS) arrrived with a note in french explaining there was a mistake in dispatch and the frames came by boat instead of air... and then had to be taken from sydney to brisbane and checked in and out by customs. SO there it is. I am doing all i can,,, what more can i or should i do to get some respect (or at least a bit of understanding). ON TOP OF ALL THIS!! - I have sold the frames for hundreds of dollars below the set retail price by the coust company due to realising that frames for $1599 would never sell.

So thanks guys for being soo considerate.

Ur Welcome.

Dan.

Hey Dan,
sorry if anything i said sounded messed up or something, but i was just checkin what other people knew, seems its taken a fuckin long time and all (not that this is your fault if they messed up shipping details etc.) and i must say that i got a good deal from you with that hub. But, yeh, i hope they get here soon cos i got all this new shit waiting to be ridden and my PX is silly.

Oh, also, the price was very good (same as a levelboss) and i apreciate that, though when you are left with an empty bank account, you want to see a product and after however many months its been, you get impatient.

also the echo shipment was late as, combined with this makes it seem a little bit suspect?? to be a decent seller of consumer products you have to tell people what is going on and not let them be waiting in the dark.
also people hate preordering products when they are this late. brett doesn't make people preorder shit.
i honestly don't believe your story though

Thats cool, Dan. Its just that your reputation preceeds you.

If you really care alot about your business you should keep people well informed.

No hard feelings, hope it all goes well.

I am not going to take sides here.. I know how long people have had to wait (I was in the same boat at one stage) and on the other hand know how hard Dan has tried to get everything in. I have been to his place, seen all papers and the effort he has put in; if I could have a chocolate for every unit of work he has put in... well, I'd be a fat man.

However for those not in the know, the Echo shipment was sent to Syd instead of Brissy. As you can imagine this entails all sorts of costs and delays, seeing as it was stuck in the Christmas period (I am FOR customs working through the holiday.. what if the shipment were a supply of christmas trees or roast turkeys?). If you don't believe it, well.. I was there at customs and freight holding with The Man- costs led into the thousands and a lot of Echo/Zoo boxes ended up inside my place of dwelling.

The fact of the matter is, Echo have not been the best people to deal with.. evident when Snapper stopped (if he even did start) bringing it in. I have spoken to Brett and his family and from what I have been told, Koxx, Brisa etc have been great to work with.

Hope that helped to set the story straight once and for all.

Yeah, don't worry Sam, your frame will come, but it might be a bit heavier though, the Coust. brothers couldn't find a safer spot than the down tube for the 200g of crack you ordered....:x:

Now i know how you got good so quick Sam..........you're abusing drugs, or respecting them. Whatever. Will you be high at the next comp? If I catch a lift with you up, i don't want to do Old Belair Road rally style with a driver off his face with nose candy... :eek3danc:

icecreamsammy
08-25-2004, 06:34 AM
You know you love belair road rally style, just next time i would prefer to hear my pace notes before the corners, not after, screaming in a desparate atempt to get me to slow down, ah, good times!

KyleT
08-26-2004, 06:04 AM
Lol......sorry, I sometimes get scared shitless when u rip round those 35km corners at 85km/h. Don't worry, next time i iwll give you the "medium right over crest, keep in....."
stuff. DO u want me to use the scale of 1-9 or the easy-medium-hard one? I will also need a decent road map, then we can tear up belair road......in a festiva!

icecreamsammy
08-26-2004, 06:27 AM
1-9, sounds like a cunning scheme to me! ha-zah for the festiva! HA-ZAH i say.

Goody gumdrops, then its settled. How about that lame Barina that was going about 50 down the whole road and didn't turn off. What a dick. We didn't even get to do the good corners.....not fair

yeah you could all bitch, but you dont know what has been going on in his personal life either, i wont go into details (none of my business) but its fuckin serious and takes priority over bike frames. Yeah he has been a bit slack, but he isnt just layin on the beach every day and gettin wasted every night.
If the frames dont come i'd be very very suprised....

I never doubted the frames arival, i was just wondering if other people had any ideas on what could be going on. I was not aware of any personal crisis and i hope its not as serious as it sounds, but yeh, Dan recons he will have the frames this week, im sure hoping he gets them, me wanna ride long bikes.

Thanks Peace and those of you who didnt take the easy way out and bitch about what u dont know about. YEs iv been thru Hell lately, but thats not why things have taken soo long. But is a contributing factor.

ANYWAYS!,
Cousts have arrived and were sent out the same day to the buyers who paid for em!
I will not be gettin any more in as it has been a long and very unprofitable venture. Ive lost alot of money on it and have received alot of BS along with it. So here it is... The last two frames will be sold for a loss at 1200 each or very near offer! First in basis only. I wont be selling anymore bikes in oz after that.

THanks to my real friends for supporting the shop and myself.
Daniel.
