I'm getting a new front tire (putting my hot s on a trail bike), and i'm thinking maxxis 1-ply 2.35" something (also, which tread pattern's the best for trials?) - would this tire be to big and foldy for a rhyno lite front rim? (I think rhyno lites are like 28mm)

edit: screw it, I'm just gonna get one.

Eh, I doubt it. Not the BEST option, but thats more because of your rim than anything else. I have a Larsen tt on a Sun Single track rim, THATS NARROW. I think you will be ok, look at the Bling bling or the high roller, personally those are my favs.

Definitely get one. The mobster is pretty sweet in super tacky single ply.

What happened that one day in Roseburg? Where were you?

Wait, you ride a single track Dan? I didn't know that would hold up. I'm kinda new to the trials scene so bear with me please. I ride rhyno lites as well, but with 2.1 fire pro's. Was that hot s ok for trials? I hate michelin tires, but my fire pro's are starting to get pretty bald with all of the urban I ride.

Yeah I ride a singletrack rim...its super narrow....way light (under 400 grams) and has thus far held up very well (I am 6 4 about 200 lbs and ride in the expert class...) I like it. looks nice and thats all that matters right?

I run a Rhyno-lite with a 2 ply, 2.35 Maxxis Bling Bling ST on the front and apart from wearing a divot into the inside fork leg, its sweet. Great to have the extra stability.

Get it, its good.

I run an uber-drilled rhyno lite on the front, with the hotS 2.5 on it. It's not really 2.5, but it goes fine on the RH. wouldn't recommend using it one the rear, because of all the extra weight, and folding etc on narrow tyres, but for the front RH is fine. Big tyre is fine, all is fine.

Yeah, stupid michelin and their tires that are not even close. I was looking at a 2.5 and it doesn't look all that much bigger than my XC's http://smilies.jeeptalk.org/cwm/3dlil/eek13.gif
What size holes did you drill in your front Rhyno lite, tomac? I have a feeling i'll regret asking this, cause I am not smooth enough on my drops yet...http://mindscraps.com/s/contrib/ruinkai/biggrinyoyoA.gif

I don't recall the exact size, maybe 2/3 " ? about 3mm narrower than the rim anyway...and then completely removed the inner wall of the rim, dropped about a third of the rim's weight off I'd say.
