This vid isn't your typical internet video. All the riding is taken from a local demo and from Squamish Test of Metal 2004. It shows a couple pro stock sections and some warm up riding from Squamish as well as some messing around before our actual demo footage. If you like watching John Webster ride you will love this video. 90% of it is him. A couple quick shots of Jeremy Van and one of Kevin Brain to round it out.

Enjoy and please let me know what you think of the riding.

:nono: I had it since before it was released :p

Brett, this is a great vid FULL of John Webster footage. It's unfortunate you didn't get more footage of steidly and jeremy, but I guess John did win and you know him pretty well. As much as I love AC/DC I just don't like the way it fits into a trials vid, but I watch for the video more than anything else and the footage captured was great... thanks for the vid.

When I had the camera I filmed Jeremy as much as possible. Unfortunately Jeremy spent a lot of time trying to do the big rock up John does in the video and some other move (I forget) and a couple other ones and never made them clean. I have tons of stuff Jeremy was trying...During the comp I didn't have the camera and made do with what I got before Piski had to do some checking.

I just put music in because I decided I wanted it there. I love ac/dc so it went in there. It wasn't really meant to work with the riding. It's just supposed to be there.

sick video, wish it was longer. John webster has a nice style, i like it much. The music was so - so, didn't really fit the actual video, but was OK.

That's got to be the worst song selection ever!!! I'd rather listen to the music in a Hans Rey video than that crap, I seriously hope you were kidding or drunk when you picked that.

HHmmmm???:wtf:
I loved the music and thought "You shook me all night long" went very well with Websters riding.

Is it me or was that gap to front wheel absolutely HUGE?? The one Webster did in the demo.

Who is that guy that shows up in many of the vids with the beer in hand?? You know the one who had the money the last time?

Anyway I like watching that guy ride so I enjoyed it very much!! Thanks Brett.

I'd rather listen to the music in a Hans Rey video than that crap, I seriously hope you were kidding or drunk when you picked that.Well I'd rather listen to ac/dc than the music in a Hans Rey video. That is why I picked it. When you make a video put whatever music you want in. Like I said above, it is in there just because. I didn't want raw no music footage. I picked two random songs that I happen to like.

Wow me and you like different music. It's obvious you that have the better taste because....uhhhh... you said so. Open up your narrow mind or turn down the volume.

Rob.K

Yes that gap is huge. I couldn't make the gap the other way to rear which is down a few inches. Not even Kevin brain could make it up the way John was doing it to rear.

Metchosin Joe is the one that has been in a couple videos with no riding. He has also been in a couple videos riding and will be in my next one. Hopefully within the next couple weeks I will have a regular style video and one packed with footage from Ken's Freetrials Comp.

Great vid Brett!
Big moves from John Webster.
I liked how Jeremy balance at 04:20. He didn't touch the pedal, did he?

I liked the music too...

I can't believe you all hate acdc, I thought it went very well.

I was seriously hoping all the jeremy footage was done switch foot :hsugh: he looks like a goon on that frame.

I liked the video. The music was ok. I seem to tune out most of the music from the videos anyway. My only dislike is the transitions of camera focus from the ground to the sky. That causes instant darkness.

Cool video Brett. Kevin and John have really good style, makes the video really good. The music, I'm open to anything. I myself don't listen to music, so anything in a trials video is welcome. Cool to see what people are into. I thought the music went good with the riding.
Great job again.

Jeremy was balancing on nothing but his pedal. His front wheel wasn't touching a thing. I have showed this move before with John doing it. It may not be the most uci thing you have ever seen, but talent is talent. A camera just can't do natural riding justice.

If anyone likes how Kevin Brain rides I got a ton of him today on camera. 6 inches over bar to rear. Oya...he didn't even bother to tap...punk. VanIsleTrials6 in a couple days. Followed by number 7 or possibly a road trip concept video in a week or two.

Ya I agree!!

Webster looks much better on the bike than Jeremy does.

They ride two completely different bikes. Jeremy is on the Coust and John is on the xtp. If you were talking in general that John looks better then nevermind this post.

Personally I think John is way way smoother and rides with much better style than Jeremy. It is just an opinion like music tastes so don't go blasting me if you disagree. It's no big deal. My guess to why is John has been riding the euro style since the very beginning. Jeremy hasn't and in the last year or two has been forcing himself to try to fit into it.

Jeremy looked the best on that old black Nac stock bike if I get a vote. The new bike definately opens up a few new lines and whatnot, but for pure style and flow I liked him on that Nac.

Jeremy trying to ride a coustellier "euro" style reminds me of this person I saw at a clothing store a few weeks ago....

A built lady, wearing a sunday dress...with a huge adams apple...a pentagram tattoo on the inside of her wrist, and trying to pay with a money order :hsugh: Trying to be something he's not.

Great vid, thanks for making and posting. John Webster is such a good comp rider, completely calm and precise on all of his moves, like he really thinks each one out before doing it.

I find the anti-Jeremyisms in this thread unnecessary though...

I was asked who I personally thought looked better on a bike so I answered and took a guess why. I'm not bad mouthing him in any means. I just think John looks better on a bike, which is really completely useless because both those guys are comp riders after the least number of dabs, not style. There are quite a few people who have spoken up now and said Jeremy "looks" worse on that Coust than he did on his previous bikes. However he is riding much better so I'm sure he doesn't really care.

And yes John is amazing in a section and keeps getting better. He has a very good mind I guess you can call it of exactly what he is gonna do and what might happen in each situation if he messes up. I am spending this next weekend with him and 20 something best of the best riders in BC doing a traditional comp and a not so traditional one. So if I can pull myself off my bike and towards the camera I should have tons more of him.

When the hell did Kevin get so good? stupid ass tapping the car to wheels after the comp.

And yea Jeremy looked wayyy better on his nac then his cous. Way frigin better. to the max. no question. etc. etc. except the roll down off the bike tire at squamish was crazy.

cool footage. like many others, i didnt think the music was good (with the riding- ac/dc is great though) but like you said, volume controls are there for a reason. john is getting rediculously good. i hope he has a support system up there to keep him going and not have to try and get further on his own.

i think jeremy's mind might have been elsewhere... like maybe on that whole being married thing.

Ya I'm aware the music doesn't go with it at all. But a well.

John is from the middle of nowhere. He rides with Kevin who will have a good sized part in my next vid. He got this good pretty much on his own so I think he will do just fine. He does have a few things on the go and a few ideas being worked out. Japan BIU is one of them. Me and him talked aboots Motorama next year but I'm thinkin maybe a bigger UCI event would be more fun. Neither us have ridden the real deal comp.

As for John winning. They were close last year, and they were close this year. They both made mistakes they didn't want to. John just came out on top. Both amazing riders. I hate seeing people try to take things away from him (not that you necessarily are.) His win has been a long time coming.

john is awesome- i know but people should know (if they didnt already) jeremy probably had some other things going on than just "oh my goshieez- i must win this comp or people on the intrawebs will lose respect for me"

well not really but you know what i mean.

but brett, you took away the great feeling of my victory in canada :(

Not to be an ass but you are not a pro mod rider.
I hate seeing people try to take things away from him (not that you necessarily are.)
i mean, not that you took it away from me, but still..............

P.S. just messing with you brett, jon was the better rider for sure :)

sweet vid. I'm unbelievably un-knowlagable on music, but I know what I like when I hear it. The music was awesome, but I didnt like the second song (or perhaps the second part to the only song) simply because I have heard it many times before, on radio and stuff. Ridding was sick. Would have been nice to see some more JeremyV, cuz the one scene he had didnt look so hot from where I'm sitting.
