My camera costed like 600 dollars or something :dunno: . Kev- the whole last song was completely redone...I also made a version to depeche modes "I just can't get enouhg" but didn't think anyone would like it :o ... as well as one to a hot hot heat song but premiere didn't like the song and it kept skipping and gay shit.

I just hurt my elbow :wtc: skaters and their wax....

Sweet mate, well done. I'm with you Al, no more trying to get better.

I'm at work watching it, I'm totally ignoring guests, and their requests for me to do things for them.

Totally dumbstruck.

WOW..:eek3: ...

There were a lot of big taps in there which I enjoy watching very much. Did you ever take a measuring tape and measure the highest tap he did?? Just curious..
And so many amazing moves to front wheel, it really is cool to watch.
What does Vince like drinking??? Is he a beer guy or what??

Damb does his riding ever flow........
Great vid Andrew, Thanks a lot for your effort!!!:D

AndyT

To answer other replies- I've been riding here for ~4 years....that gap at 2:30 for example, I have passed like every day on my way to class thinking about it- but never believing anyone would do it- so it was doubly depressing for me to see him do them all on his first try...plus it's sooooo fucking big, as are many of those taps. Rob- some of them are approaching shoulder height on me...and I'm a hair shy of 6'.... He is truly in another world (and I have ridden with the best US pros).

When vince drinks he drinks...he said having one or two beers is stupid- because it just makes you fat. He doesn't drink often- he is also a lightweight (not elan lightweight, but completely ass wasted off of 6-7 beers...I'm talking about hopping around like a frog and jumping into walls- all on camera ;) ). He just said that it is fine, every once and a while- not often, but when he does drink its only to get trashed. I've never seen anyone drink half orange juice and half milk- it sounded disgusting...but tasted like a creamsicle, must be some french thing. I'm rambling now...anyway for diet he eats mcdonalds every other day in france, drives ~1 hour each way to ride 6 days a week on natural (never rides urban) and only calls it training.

Why did u write "Bad side" when he sidehopped? It seems like he has no bad side o bad foot :P He is Amazing. awsome vid Andrew. i love Vincents crazy frontwheel stuff

06-16-2004, 05:49 AM

Pimpin vid.

Doesn't it make you feel good to see someone sidehop higher to their badside than you can go to your good side? no it doesn't.

AndyT
06-16-2004, 12:26 PM
Blendere- I already wrote the song title. Sounds are in the last song, all the stuff with the blue/orange had BLASTING gay fucking music at the event- would've fucked the video up.

Dave- he could go bad side, bad foot sidehops to higher stuff than any of us :wtc:

like the side up to that white cage thingy? hes flawless
That was his first move, to warm up... first try- like nothing.

I don't have a single clip of him falling. I have one of him bailing off the bike, when he messes up its graceful. If you ever meet him and want to become friends, buy him a milkshake.

Rob.K
06-16-2004, 12:54 PM
A milshake really??? he likes those, you mean the Mcdonalds ones???

Him not falling much shocks me!!!

But in the demo he was doing crazy shit and usually in demo's people do things they can make foreshure, so I guess I shouldn't be shocked!!!! But i am!!!!:)

AndyT
06-16-2004, 12:57 PM
He likes everything from mcdoonalds...

And it wasn't even a demo, it was an after ride...he was the only one riding

Some fat guy tried to give him 100 dollars just for letting him take pictures during the demo (vince wouldn't take it), everyone had their mouths wide open and shitting their pants. Whenever I would ask if he could do something, he would just say "but...is very big, no? ok- i try eet"

I'm still fucking depressed that I couldn't see this in person. And to have him be such a laid back guy on top of it.. unreal. I'm sure everyone that was there will have this burned into memory for a long long time.

Andrew.. did you find out how long he's been riding?

AndyT
06-16-2004, 01:37 PM
A long time :dunno:

Things graham told me yesterday- he won't work out (thinks it will make him big and slow). He used to do some calisthenics, and he used to stretch a ton (like 30 mins after a ride) but now he does nothing. He says since he stopped stretching he has more injuries :dunno:

Faction Bike
06-16-2004, 02:09 PM
He's been competing for around 8 years and riding trials for 11. The secret to this guys sucess is always riding natural and always riding to improve his weeknesses. Plus he approaches trials as a sport not a hobby. Not once did I hear him say....."let's go ride". It's always, "we go to train now, no?"

Not to suck on the kid's stick but he's such a professional and class act. Not once did he bitch about the speed trials course not being "trials" enough. Not once did he carry himself like he was better than anybody else. He would always go out of his way to introduce himself in his broken english to all the riders he was around, not saying his last name just saying, "Vince, nice to meet you".

One story that will stick in my mind however was when he introduced himself to these little beginner mod riders. I was talking with their father and Vince came up and introduced himself to the little kids first. Shaking their hands and everything. The kids where speechless. They knew who he was and couldn't believe what had just happened. After he walked away, they sort of just stared at him and then broke into a series of "oh my gosh, that's Vincent Hermance".

Anyway, enough with my raving. Back to the topic at hand.

Ed Gildea
06-16-2004, 03:18 PM
yeah vince is a nice guy. and really likes McDonalds/wendys/goodtimes.haha

yes he is human and he dose mess up sometimes(especialy when training).

but even seeinng him ride in person fora week this is still one of the most amazing videos i have ever seen ;)

Rob.K
06-16-2004, 03:27 PM
Nice to hear Vince is such a class act!!! We need more people like that in the world.

I like the attitude of going to train all the time, this is th eonly way to improve and simply shows his drive and motivation.

Thanks guys for the little imputs on how he acts it's nice to know.

Bloodhound
06-16-2004, 04:00 PM
seems like a nice guy, and although I really disagree with his professional attitude (lets train, not ride), I guess its different for him as he does this for a living. very comendable.

How much for his bike!?

Wow, thanks Andrew. The video flowed really well, and so did vincent. I'd like to hear more about the ways of the almighty vincent hermance. You should write a report/article on your experiences with him.:D

Hopefully more euro pros will come wisit over the pond if they get the kind of exposure(and good time i take it) that vincent enjoyed.

So he doesn't drink beer very often cause it will make you fat, but he eats a lot at mcdonalds? observedtrials.net--------now proud to support McDonalds.

He won't lift weights, he is afraid of becoming too big and slow- but he used to do calisthenics which is just working out without weights (pushups, etc.).
